Na it was mis-timed. The emotion of the occasion had been getting to him tho and he had been getting more and more rash all that 2nd half. He's a big miss for those league games. I guess probably Longstaff moves in there as the best solution.

Was anything said about the Southampton hand ball in the penalty area in the second half
The guys arm was outstretched away from his body and clearly hit his arm
Or was this just another case of VAR seeing only what it wants

Basically VAR keeping it a contest. It was a handball.

Hardly slept and got a busy day today
    No strikes here
It does seem like VAR are manipulating games now rather than being an aid for the ref

Indeed. They give that clear penalty and it’s a non contest. Viewers switch off.

Same with the Bruno red (which was one btw). If it was the other way around and on Bruno it would have been a yellow.

It was a mistimed tackle, nowt else. If didn't help that the useless Southampton player miscontrolled the ball. Anyone thinking Bruno meant it is being a tool.

Yeah, I agree. The pull on Wilson's head was a definite pen and should have been given.
The handball, the guy was off balance and just trying to stay upright. I'm not upset about that not being given.

Gordon into front 3 for next 3 matches.

Joelinton into mid with Longgy and Willock. If only we hadn't let Shelvey go he could fill in, lol.

Think they’ll go with ASM first.

This. The pull on Wilson is so. obvious. THAT is what VAR is meant to be there for.
The 'handball' was possible, but not enough evidence to say that the ref got it wrong.

We just want consistency. If VAR intervene to tell the ref to look at the screen for Bruno's foul (rightly so) then they should also tell him to look at the screen for someone being pulled over by their head in the penalty box.

We have had a few flattish performances recently, marked by an inability to take chances. An enforced change takes pressure off Howe to make changes while on an unbeaten run so it might do us good. I would move Joelinton into the middle, give Gordon his debut and play Isak from the start.

I would be tempted to go with this:

    Pope
    Trippier
    Schar
    Botman
    Burn
    Almiron
    Longstaff
    Joelinton
    Willock
    Gordon
    Isak

Does Isak have to miss a game due to being taken off for a head injury?

Read it somewhere (probably on here), but not sure what the actual rules are.
