The obvious question is how Conte plans on approaching our WBs next season The reason I ask is because, with a right flank of Porro/Emerson, it looks like he's considering a form of asymmetrical WBs given Porro bombs down the flank and looks to cross the ball in while Emerson is more Ben Davies-like with the way he links up with midfield and the front line with short passes If that is something Conte is considering, that's an oddly specific type of LWB we'd be looking for - when the easier solution is just have Sessegnon play like he has for the previous 2-3 seasons as opposed to how he's set up this season and reassess at the end of the season because, at present, having him try and play as a flying WB isn't working partly as he's lost at least a yard of pace due to hamstring injuries and bulking up, and as his confidence is shot his crossing is bloody awful
I assume Emerson is staying because he’s the one we couldn’t find a taker for on loan. Needed to get one out as we couldn’t register Doherty and Emerson.
TBH Emerson is the one to keep for tactical reasons, most obviously his stamina and workrate means he is a good option to have come off the bench if we're looking to shut down the right flank as he'll be hassling players until the cows come home

Before I criticise the childish wordplay, I should confess that when we had Joe Hart in the squad, I was an email to brb away from changing my name to White Hart Kane.
One small thing to note re Doherty and Atletico Madrid: clubs are only allowed eight international loans, and we've already got our eight with Reggie, Gil, Lo Celso, Udogie, Winks, Ndombele, Spence & Rodon ...and no, Udogie does count as an international loan contrary to popular belief, as for an U21 player to be exempt they need to be both U21 and CG So either one player's coming back or we've received a low-key bid...or somebody at the club can't count

Well what a spectacular waste of £13m he was. Awful for 90% of his appearances and has his contract mutually terminated. The maddest thing is I think this could happen with one or two others, including some big money ones, I’m struggling to see us finding buyers for a few.
