Calm down. Three at the back wasn’t what f*cked us. A piss poor CM pairing did. The worst player was Alcaraz, who everyone on here thought was amazing in the last game. It ain’t easy. Ultimately think we improved a lot as the game went on.

Respectfully, I think you're wrong there. The change of formation left everyone out of sorts nobody, midfield included knew where they were supposed to be. Nobody seemed to know when to go in, step off, what do do in scenario A thru Z. It was disastrous all around, not just midfield.

Can’t say the better side over the two legs didn’t go through, terrible first 20 and they took full advantage

I ****ing hate Radio Solent online. Commentary automatically stopped at 10pm for the scheduled 10pm news, so I had to listen to 5 live ejaculating as they announced the result at the whistle.

Okay so we can hope we never see a back 5 again

with a back 4 we’ve played okay against a very good Newcastle team

Latvia’s looked like the best midfielder on the pitch since coming on

with new signings to add in, we could end up doing okay.

As long as we ditch the back 5

This a hundred times. Every single time we play five at the back, whether under Ralph or under NJ we look terrible. I wonder if the two facts could be related.

How many times have we said exactly this? The message isn't sinking in, and I'm becoming more and more convinced this ****ty 5 at the back system is a Sports Republic directive.

Right, but you really think 4-4-2 would have been much better?

Newcastle are just far superior, and we had weak as **** midfield pair.

Oh my dear fruits you do make me laugh.

I backed us at 33-1 before the game to win, but I am a sucker. We started extremely poorly and then improved significantly. If AA buries that we go on to win. Hopefully we have new players coming in and things get better and we win the FACup.

Please also Mods , you know who are, please don't inflame the discussion by calling our manager a ****ing ****, naively I assume you have this position as you have demonstrated responsibility in the past

Don't get me wrong, I know that our squad has massive limitations. But that match has just highlighted how much of a problem Jones is. The first and second halves were chalk and cheese, and that was solely down to tactics and personnel. This isn't the lower leagues. You can't afford to give PL opponents a 45 minute head start. Get it right, from the start. That first 45 minutes was scary bad. The second 45 minutes absolutely was not.
