There’s two things we need to not conflate here. People will say Speakman has failed, and he has, but only to an extent. I personally don’t believe he’s failed in his planning. Just in the execution. He’s not been able to get the deals done. Which is all that matters. If it’s because the right player wasn’t available; then perhaps we should have reconfigured what the right player means. But I don’t think the planning was wrong. They’ll have done everything they could. Just failed to execute
And what if gelhardt comes in and scores loads between now n the end of the season? Doesnt mean weve wasted a great start if we dont bring in a striker, i agree itll be disappointing but we still have quality attacking players
we are spoiled as Sunderland fans now frankly. Best football we’ve played in years. Today was a bad day. But it’s not going to mean our team stops playing the best football we’ve played in years
Really? The way they’re run? When we explicitly spent the window saying we wouldn’t wait around for exactly that?
All the good feelings from the fan base will have disappeared. Should you not be watching your team in the cup rather than talking s hite on here?
Any It's negligent tbh, I'd have taken a Championship experienced striker on loan. Even Hoppe from Boro
I wasn’t saying that. I specifically said there was a lot good going on but this blind spot with CFs is increasingly odd.
Aye so many posters that I've never seen on here, probably because things have been going well, have all come out the woodwork tonight
Just over an hour left of the window. I hope Speakman is currently scouting strikers for Everton so we get Simms back.
