Dale Stephens is due to have an operation on his ankle, and Bradley Pritchard back to full training, thoughts?
source? to be honest i'm fine with Hughes keeping his place in the side he's proved most of his critics wrong and it allows Hollands to get forward who has also been prolific of late in the absence of Stephens, all co-inciding with our recent good run since Stevenage. i've nothing against Pritchard but Hughes has earnt his place in the team. Maybe later in the season if we can get promoted with games to spare is the time for Pritchard to have a run in the team
Any ill words against Stephens results in a 4 year ban and making a grown man cry. He shall return sharper than ever and slice more defences open.
I didn't mean out as in out the team, just meant out injured. Stephens is probs my favourite player for Charlton, but may have to choose another if he won't be playing Wiggins looking likely
Sorry carcuss- was referring to another poster. Wiggins is 2nd, but ol' Dale is many moons ahead of everyone for me. Not often we get a cultured type down the valley.
no ill words against stephens i rate him highly very infact one of my best players this year-im just being honest info ive heard tonight
Can't be an insignificant injury if it requires surgery...!! Hopefully he'll make a full and speedy recovery.
November's a quiet month, with relatively few league games, so it's a well timed operation, back for the xmas period hopefully. Is Alonso match fit to play at Halifax?
A few weeks ago I as was outside the players entrance and had a quick chat with Stephens, he alluded to having a problem that needed looking at. I suppose now that Hughes has shown he can perform well and that Pritchard is coming back to full fitness then the time is right for him to get it seen too.
Spot on, I reckon Killer, and would be surprised not to see Alonso for some part of the Halifax game at least. Sounds like this is just a niggler that they want to clear up now rather than risk him being out when we may really need him later in the season.
If he is out for just a couple of weeks this has been timed perfectly. If he is out for longer i am a bit worried that we will be caught out if anything happens to Hollands.
Am sure the club have looked into all possible scenarios thinking it'll be fine - I suspect they've seen Hughes' performances as a chance to give Stephens a break to get this injury out of the way ready for the run of games come Xmas / New Year. In terms of Stephens possibly being sold I think its ludicrous (yet wouldnt say no to Marc Pugh joining). Might be a source Acworth but I seem to remember a Ceefax "source" saying we'd sign Javier Saviola a few years ago....
