Nigel Pearson is set to become the new Leicester City manager, the Mercury understands. The Hull City manager is believed to be finalising personal terms after the Tigers reluctantly agreed to allow Pearson to hold talks with City after initially rejecting an approach on Sunday. An announcement is expected tomorrow.
what happens happens. if thats what he wants then good luck to him. at least he leaves hull city in a far Better Position than when he arrived. For that at least the Tiger Nation should be grateful to Nigel Pearson.
When Pearson resigned from Leicester to take the hull job a colleague who happens to be a hull fan ****ing sent me text after text taking the piss - Oh this is going to be fun
Does anyone really think that this is a good move? When he came for us he was the right man, but is that the case now? It will take a lot for him to rebuild a squad like he has had before. I just hope he is a success because if he fails he will find the next move very difficult. I liked what he has done and the team that he has built, I like the football that we have seen, but perhaps he just wanted something that we could not give him, that sense of belonging.
I wish him no luck and hope he's sacked in may. And why show him gratitude? He got well payed for doing his job after we decided to give him a chance when Leicester wanted rid....now the same team offer him his job back and he can't wait to **** off back there. I really rated him as city manager but now he looks like he's off he can go and **** himself
Well if this is true let's hope he dosnt take the likes of Chester and Rosie with him but if he does come in then let's hope we get top dollar for them, Leicester can't brag about all their cash and expect them for next to nothing, if it's a done deal then good luck to np , he done a good job for us
Out of interest, would you like to go into detail about how you imagine he'd go about ****ing himself?
You were a mess with over paid players and a losing mentality. You looked like Leeds a few years before. Now you're one of the better Championship sides. All thanks to Pearson. You can't deny reality just because he might be going. At least we've always been honest about how much he did for us, even when he was with you.
I actually agree with you Percy, although I'm not sure many managers who we could of got could have done as good a job with the resources available. I don't know if you noticed on the other thread by the way, so I'll say it again. Happy Pearson (hopefully) leaving day!
I dunno about league 1. We were down there for half of the season but we had a decent enough team to pull through to safety i thought. Also we were in a mess off the pitch so it's not just the team's fault. Pearson did well in his first season and he's turned it around well recently. Will the new bloke be able to continue that? We shall have to see.
No, we were in League One without the Allams or AP. He's done a good job but I agree with most on here, he's an absolute **** for the way he's gone about this.
I'm optimistic about the successes our next manager can bring. Pearson pulled us out of a rough patch and now we have a stable foundation to build upon. As long as we appoint a good replacement I don't see why we can't still push for promotion this season.
No, no, no, no, no Our squad was never, eeeeeeeeeever going to go down to League One, it was never that bad. That's a myth fabricated by AP to facilitate his own ego and to get casual fans back behind Pearson, because let's be honest, he's never been that popular with them.
Like I've been saying, some of the names we have been linked with show there are some capable managers out there. Dave Jones and Billy Davies for instance. Actually, some Foxes fans are gutted we've not gone for Davies!
Your club was in desperate need for stability, and Pearson is the type of manager that is perfect for instilling this. Well, now you're stable, I think a number of managers could do a job for you. But don't be ungrateful for what Pearson has done.
I will be very interested to hear NP's reasons for going. If he felt unloved by our fans, then there is a certain section of fans I am ashamed of. I hope that he realises that the vast majority of fans really appreciate what he has done for us and wish him well. I'd prefer to think that there were personal / family issues which enticed him away rather than money. The majority of fans are not ungrateful, just saddened by this twist of events.
