The Maddison situation reminds me of the paqueta one ie not anything to suggest it's happening.

Newcastle tried though I suppose but I feel like they've spent loads the last few windows and can't see them spending what would probably be 60 to 80 million to prize him away from Leicester.

    Forget it lads

It’s honestly mint to see all us fans actually happy now, all those years we had transfer windows like this and were just constantly disappointed, not being able to afford Hamza C for one.

When the toon are doing well my life in general is just much better, it’s mad.

Nothing in the Maddison rumours at all

If we were on the verge of a 60 million signing of one of Englands hottest prospects it would be big news.

I agree mate. We all know the owners would love Maddison in an ideal world as much as us fans but they’ve got restrictions. We don’t want to be another Chelsea getting transfer embargos etc. Our emergence has only just begun.

Worth mentioning that Luke Edwards was 1st with the Shelvey news and now he's saying no guarantee Newcastle will get a replacement in.

We have moved on Shelvey and Wood in one window.

We have replaced Wood with Gordon.

There has to be a replacement for Shelvey.

    But who?

Looks to me like it's a negotiation on Mattheus Franca, or nothing. As above it's hugely unlikely we'll be spending £50m+ on Maddison as well this window.

Everyone here ****ting on Shelvey but he's not that bad of a player, he's good, he just doesn't fit into our system as he doesn't have the pace and energy to do it. He's a good passer of the ball and has the odd goal in him.

Hopefully it wont be another situation of we sell the player and have to still pay 80% of their wages.

We just need to keep selling to Forest... Seems they're paying them at least what we are... Wood got a pay rise.

Any chance they'll take Murphy in the summer?

Not sure the threat of chopping anything off can make that one happen.

I think Maddison will be one of the summer unfortunately.

I think it's clear that City, Arsenal and probably United are going to be finishing above us, just too much quality.

I don't see Liverpool or Chelsea catching us, it's all about Spurs then, who do have much better squad depth than us.

I think one more attacking player would be enough to finish 4th.

The game changed and moved on. He didn’t unfortunately.

He doesn’t have the pace or engine. He never really created that much. Hollywood passes became worse and worse.

He’s made an absolute fortune out of the club so I have no issues saying I am pleased he is going.

    But that’s just my opinion.

Agreed, but all I'm saying really is he's not a lesser player than Longstaff or Willock he just doesn't fit our style.

He's not ****e, he's good in the right setting.

Forest will be getting a good player that simply didn't fit our style.

It's just like Willock is decent in the right formation that lets him run around, but in a 4-4-2 sort of formation where he's expected to remain static, he's worthless.

    Style's make fights.

Yes he would probably be excellently suited to Spanish football.

He will probably do well at Forrest though where the expectations are less.
