****ing disgraceful - not only the horrific threat but the apparent tidal wave of racism that's emerged recently. My other half was one of the Ipswich fans applauding Billy Sharp for scoring against them. That's how you put the game into perspective.
No matter how much 'progress' you think our species has made, there's always going to be some throwbacks. Anton has done nothing. He didn't deserve the abuse he got from Terry, he didn't deserve the abuse the mindless Chelsea crowd gave him at a game where he wasn't even playing, and he certainly doesn't deserve this. But to some scum, there's always someone else to blame for their own failings as human beings. I note there's no comment at all on this from Chelsea fans, especially HammersmithBlue and Drogs. It'd be interesting to see how they can distance the morons that support their club from this disgraceful event, and who else they might try to blame.

Also, if a Chelsea fan is found guilty of making the death threat, what should happen to them? if the writing is joined up it wouldn't be terry's mum. with all the racial comments and threats going round (allegedly.......cause nothing has been proved and I can ill afford to be sued), isn't it ironic, that nearly every side in the league has a black player (generalising here)in their current first team. Someone whose name you chant from the terraces and cheer when he does something good......and yet.............. I for one will be happy when this get cleared up and off the back pages and we can start talking about football once again.

Innocent until proven guilty... but Terry's verbal attack was there for all to see. My son drew my attention to it as it happened. I was so into the game, I didn't want to acknowledge what he was saying - but he kept playing it back and you don't have to be a lip-reader to know that '... black ****' were the only words that fitted those mouth shapes - and more so in the context of his facial expression. Next day it was all over the media. Death threats? What did Anton do to deserve all this? Get caught in his car with an under aged girl? No, that was John Terry. Shag his mate's bird? Nope - Terry again. Usurp the England captaincy in front of the WC media? Er... no. Terry and his tribe need to get a grip.
