Football in a library - I only heard the Fulham fans after they scored and then for only a few minutes. Sunderland fans sang their hearts out for the whole game, towards the end it felt like we were going to win it and the noise really affected the players, they were putting in that extra effort to win the ball back. it really was truly excellent.
We're building something special here. So many years of ****e and now we have a club we can be proud of
What a fekkin class day that was. First away game in decades for me, Wembley aside. Loved it. Great performance second half, bloody linesmen took half hour to raise his flag.
Just watched the match again.and thought about MOTM. Considered Patterson, Roberts, Amad, etc ... ... in the end I sided with the MOTD, Sky and other commentators who've done nothing but praise our incredible support. FANtastic!
And how many times have we said, 'Yes we won but I thought him, him and him had a poor game'. That's quite rare at the moment, they all fight for each other. Great to see.
Didn't think the MOTD highlights were that bad if I'm honest. Biggest disappointment was them missing out the injury to our main striker which had he played the whole game in sure he'd have gobbled up a chance or two, they never said owt about the impact of losing him meant to us. Mind I'm not sure the Fulham defence would have coped with his presence as they had as tough an afternoon as they've probably had in the Premiership this season.
These players have set a benchmark...and IF they can replicate that level of performance for the remainder of the season, a playoff place is a given
The fighting bit is the key. I was taught this as a young lad by a teacher/ coach who, looking back was two generations ahead of his time, and him just running a school and district team! It's everything, a team is lost without it. And whether we are good or not on the day, no player is left in trouble by himself on the pitch now. Good, skillful players run themselves into the ground for each other, and revel in the doing of it. Good things are happening. After years of horrific stasis, we are coming.
I think TM has installed a believe in the team to play their football. We seem to be playing without fear
Any Sunderland team in the last 50 years would have struggled with the injuries we are having to key players, this group of players however seem to get better on the back of adversity. Loving how they fight for one another .
