It is possible that they could underestimate us and go into the game expecting to win without putting too much effort into it and we could surprise them.

Everyone expected us to get hammered off city last year, we ended up very unlucky to get nothing from the games and James Perch was playing in one of them, not to mention the Ben Arfa fiasco.

I reckon we'll get a draw, draw against United and draw against Chelsea.

One can hope. Alas if City did underestimate us and we came away win a point, I think it would get Utd's backs up and they would take us seriously. Alas, I think we can beat Utd and Chelsea. Those 2 are currently a shadow of their usual selves. Plus there is no Paul Scholes to worry about and Rooney is now being played in midfield.... The signs are looking good!

Man United stuggled against Norwich and didn't look too great against the Mackems, so that being said, i think we could actually win if we play to our fulll potential. Chelsea don't look great, they're not the threat they used to be, they'll probably beat us convincingly now ive said that.

Man City, well, if we win there, then we'll finish top 4.

I'm a Spurs fan here but I have Newcastle affiliation and always hope to see them do well, even at times when they play Spurs (it didn't pee me off that much to see Shola's equaliser)

My personal thought is: if Newcastle get 0 / 9 points, then there's no real surprise. Few teams are expected to get points against those 3 sides. If Newcastle manage 3 / 9 points, thats a pretty good return for a team that was expected to struggle this season. Any more and Pardew might as well be called the Messiah!

It doesn't really matter if there's a hiccup or not for Newcastle. Even if they lose the next 8 games, they'd still have more points at the half way stage than they would like to have as a bare minimum (20 points) in order to survive. Its not that inconceivable that 3 more wins would be enough to see Newcastle survive for another season. Obviously no fan would want to see that happen since Newcastle have made such a promising start.

I do think there is a massive hypocrisy when any pundit / commentator says "Newcastle have yet to be tested", when on another day they'd say "There are no easy games in the PL". I said in a previous thread that no one expects Newcastle to beat the top sides, its about how they fare against their biggest rivals!

Good luck to Newcastle over the next 3 games! I hope you take at least a point from Chelsea. Whilst I can see you getting comfortably beaten by Man City, I can't see that happening against the other two considering the run and form that both sides are in!

I think we will get 3 at City I can sense the force is strong in us, however should they strike us down we will introduce Benny and Santon and become more powerful than you can possibly imagine. 4 points is my final answer

Highly doubt it. AVB, Mancini, and Ferguson manage the top teams in the league, they're not stupid enough to underestimate anyone. Especially teams who are unbeaten and around them in the league!

I'm only expecting a point. Which will be perfectly fine for me! Anything from these games will be a bonus.

a point against City, Win vs Manure, and a point at Chelsea would keep us 3rd/move us to 2nd so that would be what I hope for!!!
BUT I don't think that is realistic (definitely possible but not realistic) so bar those results i would be happy with 1 point and 3 good performances

This, though our goal difference will look worse, as I think City will win by at least 2.

I'm more focused on Norwich, Swansea, West Brom and Bolton. 9 points from those and we'll be very well placed going into the new year regardless of what happens in the next three games.

I don't know why I must be mental, but I reckon (and hope since I'll be in attendance) that we'll get a point against Manchester City.

We'll get humped against Man United and Chelsea is too far away to call a lot can change between now and then, but I'd be happy with a point against them and that's realistic. As poorly as they are playing I don't think we can beat them
