Nope I would say it was a pretty close game with us having the majority of possession but struggling to cut through and being very sloppy. Perraud dragged us kicking and screaming to a result. Blackpool had better open play chances than us but were wasteful. I would have said we were marginally the better side until 2-0 but it wasn’t comfortable, after 2-1 they had us on the ropes until the end and we were quite lucky to see the game out. Granted it was mostly a second string, but still Blackpool are struggling in the Championship so it wasn’t pleasant viewing.
Positives: Perraud. Love his commitment & goals. Lyanco had another good game. We won with a scratch type team. FAC5! Nice. AMN poor (some will say, yes in wrong position - personally I wouldn’t want his risky passing in the center). Ely & Aribo, shame.
No one seems to have mentioned Mara's contribution, not surprised as the only thing noticeable was the wreckless drop kick on the GK! I would give him 1 out of ten for attendance! He had a Mare. (Just noticed he had the assist for the second goal! Have to mark him up a point for that)
We're in the hat for the next round without the need for a replay and that's the main thing. I thought that we were relatively comfortable until they scored and then they threw the kitchen sink at us to their credit. Don't quite get the meltdown on here, they are not a lower league team and were playing hard for their new manager so I give them respect.
