I’m not sure we were, despite us winning and scoring twice I would say they had the better open play opportunities in the game but were wasteful. We did spend a lot of time in their half until 2-0 but struggled to create as per. Felt like a very even game at most, without Blackpool being wasteful and Perraud having an absolute worldie I think we would probably have lost today.
The bloke who took a club with league one resources to the top half of the Championship is out of his depth in the Championship? Kden
On another note, I am once again recharging my campaign to play Perraud up front or LW. If we aren’t going to play him at LB in the PL then we might as well put him ahead of all of our forwards who are worse than him at creating and finishing, this includes; Adam Armstrong, Sam Edozie, Mohammed Elyounoussi, Moussa Djenepo, Joe Aribo, Che Adams and Sekou Mara.
I assume they meant in FA cup. Saints have tried hard to lose away to every PL club over different seasons.
I don't know what team you are watching but there's **** all 'elite' about this shower of ****e. When did the 'elite fairy' visit Saints? I must have missed her.
Couldn't watch the game but from what I have read it looks as though our heavily rotated side were very comfortable and dominated for 60 minutes, before conceding a silly goal and defending the last 25/30 to see out the win? Taking into account that we were missing our best 2 players by a long way (JWP/KWP) and a number of other 1st teamers that seems like a decent if unremarkable outcome - or am I missing something?
Maybe but he’s (Ely) meant to be one of our first team squad players. Sat midway Itchen today; watched him & Aribo closely. Aribo looks …. rusty, no confidence, no touch. Terrible! Ely ushered well & some nice touches but certainly didn’t excel. He switched off for the infield pass that led to their goal. My son’s very switched-on regarding tactics, strategy, etc & definitely “not me” when it comes to football thoughts but he agreed totally with the above. Ps. Someone earlier made a comment about Orsic being the new Theo; tongue in cheek I think but I did see a very distinct similarity when robustly challenged from behind & went down like the potato sack, similar to Theo does. Definitely no foul & that’s how the ref saw it. Bit worrying?
Melt bollocks, having put Luton into a strong position out of depth in the championship really doesn't wash
