So had we sold our two best players and signed a bunch of largely unknowns… and then hired dyche you’d have predicted midtable?

The point Jammy was we used to talk about how bielsa made players better but that in reality it was the system that helped them shine. Maybe for all the negativity about it, our system - that gives overloads in transition creates gaps in opposing defences - makes players like Rodrigo suddenly look world class. Perhaps the ‘chaos’ gives attacking players opportunities to look good and makes us think players are better than they are. Not saying I agree with that statement, but it’s funny how this bunch of misfits are now considered an elite squad being held back by their manager.
No doubt recruitment would have been slightly different with a different manager.

But yes we would be mid table if we had a better manager/coach...whether that be Dysche or someone else who knows what he's doing.

All irrelevant now and as we're all in with Jesse we may as well all get fully behind him <ok>

That’s some statement, considering how Donald ducked we were last February.

Underachieving points maybe but not underachieving performances in my view.

I recall in the summer when we’d sold our two best players and bought a bunch of unknowns and Jesse Old boys from lesser leagues, how panic stricken we were. We were on everyone’s relegation shortlist.

Now apparently it’s a great squad and midtable is the worst we should expect with it. How perspectives change.
Did you watch the game today?? Performance??

So McKennie loan this season, we sign him hopefully ready for next season due to FFP so we’re either going to have a huge chunk of the summer transfer pot spent or we’re going to have to recoup some money

Don't think it would have been that difficult for a different coach to have us 6 points better off and sitting comfortably in 12th.

The fact is Jesse would have achieved that himself if he didn't gift our opposition goals with his U9's tactics.

I agree we’ve played well enough to be midtable. But for every goal we’ve gifted with tactics we’ve gifted 2 with individual incompetence. Usually from the same players who helped put us in a relegation battle last year… where they conceded even more goals under super coach.

The u9 tactics is playing midtable football, u9 defenders is creating relegation form.

For all I’m excited that we’ve got rutter - and fingers crossed mckennie - I think not sorting out the defence is a mistake (marsch’s biggest mistake) and will continue to cost us.

Wober? Hes been great so far, and probably the most important signing this window no matter who we get across the line

He’s helped fella. Didn’t think he was as good today, but hope he makes the difference. Still desperate for a left back in my view but happy for firpo today.

He's a big help

Couple more deffensive additions slowly blended in January if we stay up and we are flying

And if we ain't the marsch needs to get the **** out <ok>

I thought our centre halves got man handled a bit today, led to a few scrambles in the box. Wober had a couple of cooper moments but got away with them. His passing was good. I like him but think he may get found out for pace which be less of an issue if the rest of them had some.

In general I thought we were pretty poor defensively today… and gave up too many opportunities to a pretty functional league 1 attack.

Re scores… I saw meslier given an 8… which surprised me… thought he was poor today as well. Dropped a couple of crosses, which could have cost us… and should have dealt better with the initial shot for the goal.
