Piskie was the one that argued back. The OP was swiftly put right about Modric and he hasn't really tried to wum since, infact he seemed more concerned finding out what "pull the other one" meant.

Like I said earlier, I think most Gooners recognise that Modric is a class act.
We'd have him in our team in an instant.
Wenger was actually interested in signing him before Spurs bought him,
so from an Gooner perspective, that says it all really.

I agree with Samir here. Anyone who uses the term Spud sounds like a silly little girl to me. It is the lamest and silliest of insults and I can't get very wound up by it.

Very poorly disguised WUM. Usual bollocks from an idiot Gooner spouting useless stats.

It's not even used as an insult, just a familiar term. Those who get wound up by it are as Wandering Yid pointed out - belittling themselves <ok>

I think Modrich is a great player. He is as good as Rosicky imho. Maybe even better since he scores more.

Agreed <ok> and that some people seem intent on trying to create a fractious environment despite claiming that they don't want a slanging match.

I think there are some of us between the two sets of fans who can see that clearly - others want to claim to be victims, whilst actually being perpetrators.

Given that the OP got the silly argument that he was going for, can we close this now, please?

As I said, I did not want an argument, as you can see I stopped commenting regularly after I got a couple of decent responses <ok>

Whilst the OP was a thinly veiled wum attempt, some people actually tried to contribute to a debate.

Unfortunately, despite claiming they didn't want a slanging match, some people seemed intent on turning it into just that.

It's a shame that those who claim that cross threads don't work, make it their mission to ensure that they don't.
