That is absolutely outstanding from Dan Ballard. Some might say that it's lucky, but his positioning earned him the luck.
Aye, that was the other one I though of. Can't remember who it was but he sliced some ligaments or something. Others have fell down the stairs I'm sure. When Cattermole was struggling with his back/hip injuries we were blaming it on his sports car seating position
Lets remember - nobody here is saying we'd rather win in the FA Cup than keep Stewart fit. If we knew he'd get injured of course he shouldn't be playing. But he's played like 200 games in his career and had two injuries in that time. He had like a 1% chance of getting injured.
We're a football club. Our job is to win games and you do that by playing your best players. Where do you draw the line? Rest him in training in case he gets a knock? Don't play him in any friendlies because it's unnecessary? Take him off every single game to make sure he's not on the pitch a minute more than he needs to be?
Who would you have played instead of Stewart? Amad? And if Amad had done his hammy? Who should have played then. Which players were worth the risk?
Here's my point of view. We all said that we wanted to see how good this team is against Premier League opposition and Fulham are in the top half. The only way we would find out for sure is if we play our first choice team available and that included Stewart
There's a chance he gets injured every day in training ffs. Captain Hindsight over here. If we'd rested him today, and then he did this injury next week, we'd have been much more ****ed.
This is a great game for our lads imo. Will be a big learning curve for them on where we want to get to. It will benefit Ba, Michut, Hume, Neil etc massively! (Win, lose or draw)
