Given how we’ve repeatedly taken the top scorer in the championship and turned them into someone with zero confidence in front of goal, I’d be surprised if we go this route. Although to be honest actually buying a striker would surprise me now… priority for the last two windows in the fans eyes and yet we haven’t managed one

Have we signed a striker yet?

A search of the sunlit uplands didn't bear fruit.

Joint 5th scorer in the Championship is Ross Stewart of Sunderland. But, he's got his 10 goals in just 13 games, which is the highest goals per game ratio in the division. Season before scored 24 in their League One promotion campaign. 6 foot 2, coming into his prime years. Quick for his size, good in the air, composed finisher. Could be a Lambert type.

Swap for Adz who banged them in the championship? Although he is making an impact running at defenders.

Totally different players, and Armstrong is a LW these days anyway.

I'm not saying it would be a like for like exchange but one goal scorer for another albeit in the championship.

Quite funny. I know Dean and I know he didn’t say this. (Definitely not in such certain terms) Wonder where they’ve conjured this up from <laugh>. Seems like they’ve taken a conversation out of context. I dont see why dean would have any inside knowledge avojt saints transfer dealings

Oh you mean give them Armstrong? Nah I think Jones likes what Adarma brings to the squad at the moment. Reports say Sunderland would only ask for around 10m for Stewart.

We probably need a higher league position to justifying him leaving the Mackems, who are on a bit of a charge, like Saints with SRL

Half the division are in with a shout of a playoff place. 3 points separates the teams between 3rd to 10th. The chances of Sunderland getting promotion therefore are still not great. And let's face it, it's probably going to be Luton getting promoted.

Even if we go down, Stewart will have given himself a shot at making a name for himself as a Premier League player. That's very hard to turn down at 26 years old, despite Saints' precarious position. And we could always put a relegation clause in his contract, or bonuses etc.

Leeds now signing Mckennie, Everton getting Dyche in, Bornmuff giving it a real go, Leicester signing Tete, Wolves buying some quality. We just can’t compete in this league. The buy young and cheap and hopefully sell big doesn’t work in this league when this is your 100% plan. Rasmus said that we were in for a couple of exiting weeks a couple of weeks ago, whereas in reality we’re seeing all our relegation rivals strengthening whilst we bring in a mid table championship player and still no bloody striker. Has a real feel of getting ready for the championship next season. Can’t say I’m really exited Mr Ankerson.

It really is beginning to feel a bit like he’s missing a letter at the beginning of his name…

I have had my fair share of mini meltdowns throughout this window. Just saving them up for a mega meltdown now for when the window closes and we still haven't signed a striker. Still think we need a DM too but can accept that not happening now so long as we land the striker.

Yes, it is quite entertaining. I accept that SR have ****ed up in the striker department, but they haven't exactly signed a load of duds.

No one will care about a transfer meltdown when we've got a cup final to plan for :bandit:

Yep, heaven forbid fans would complain about being rock bottom of the league, barely spending a penny, losing game after game after game.

I can’t see a reason for fans to be angry at all. In fact, why don’t we suggest the club increase ticket prices again
