Calling all Skokie’s (Good & Bad)!

Below is a list of the premier league games we have up to New Year Day!

    (H) QPR
    (H) Blackburn
    (A) Everton
    (H) Spurs
    (A) Wolves
    (A) Man City
    (H) Villa
    (H) Wigan

There is a possible 24 points up for grabs but I want to know how may points would it take for us to REASONABLY "NOT" I repeat "NOT" question the suitability of the manager? I have taken this point of the season because if a decision were to be taken a new manager would have a transfer window and half a season to rectify the "potential" problem!

My opinion is that we have QPR, Blackburn & Wolves that I would expect to get something from and Everton and Villa that we could get something from. So, regardless of style and who loves or dislikes the manager and his style, I would think that 12 points would be tolerable! This would put us on 24 points for the season and just about half way to the 45 points I think we would need to survive!

So seriously, no back biting or piss taking I would really appreciate a true reflection of all fans. So please, all fans on this board past and present, come forth and state your threshold. Your club NEEDS you!

Smithers I'd love 12 but can't see double figures on current form, attitude, commitment, passion and style. I hope to god you are right

    Smither's first off
Sorry I KNOW it's 3 in the morning and there are other reasons as to why i'm currently living the life of a Hampster, Feckin can't sleep at night but back on topic..

Looking at those fixtures erm I'll give it my best shot given that we've just been hammered five Zip, the player's don't know what's hit them and even Tony Pulis said quote.. " This has to be one off the worst results since I became manager here at Stoke City" and " We didn't compete"

Honestly IF we got 12pts from those games I will be amazed given our current form.

QPR I would usually expect 3pts, now it's more hope we win that one..
Blackburn, IF we didn't win that game we're shafted..
Everton Away You can not be serious? given our poor away record forget that game.
Spurs? We would need to play as well, if not better than we have all season to get anything IMO I can't see us doing that.
Wolves Away We're complete and utter crap away from the Brit another loss.
Man City Away... Anyone who does go to the COMS take a calculator you might need it we've got no chance, T.P. will park the bus. And HOW many goals per game do Citeh Avg this season? <yikes>
Villa Anyone's guess but it's winnable but a draw would just about be acceptable.
Wigan Must win but erm, they beat us last game of the season so again, a must win game I think.

So I reakon QPR, Blackburn and Wigan we MUST win and another pt v maybe the Villa can't see us gaining anymore. I agree with Crooks our confidence is low, tactically we're naive, can't pass, can't score oh and our defence is about as bad as i can remember for a long time.
I'll go for 10 pts Smither's and HOPE for more than that.

I honestly think that there are 4 winnable games and a least 1 draw amongst that lot.

IF...............and you all know what that is, well to state the bleeding obvious, pick the cirrect players in their correct positions - HUTH at cb with Shawx, get Palacios up and running, banish Rory to Greenland, if poss get Matty and Pennant fit AND in Pennant, motivated and who knows.

I'm just trying to gauge from all fans what is the minimum we would need to give TP a bit of breathing space, so I would really appreciate fans from all different view points to vote to try and give some balance. At present it looks like 10 points or less and we would question the ability of TP purely on results, but we could do with a few more to get a better reflection!

    Smithers,
This is NOT an anti pulis post - but I do not want to give him ANY breathing space. I want him OUT NOW, we have an international break, enough time oh forget it - it's not going to happen, any time soon.

Even though this is ME saying it, it is absolutely pointless (bit like Stoke away from home) saying Pulis Out, unless Coates says so, he is here to stay.

Hang on do you thing that the Coates family are using Stoke as a tax deductible entity, you could you know cos as HMRC says, if you are providing for and charging for ~ENTERTAINMENT~ you can use this as a kosher Tax Avoidance activity.

AHHHH NOOOOOOO sorry sorry sorry, got that wrong, the operative phrase - 'PROVIDING ENTERTAINMENT' does NOT apply to Stoke City

    Try again

In my opinion, this is what we SHOULD realistically expect based on the opposition and the money we spent over the summer:

    (H) QPR - Win
    (H) Blackburn - Win
    (A) Everton - Lose
    (H) Spurs - Draw
    (A) Wolves - Draw
    (A) Man City - Lose
    (H) Villa - Draw (I was toying with putting "Win" here, but Villa seem to have picked up recently)
    (H) Wigan - Win

    Realistic Total - 12 Points

My predictions, based on the general negative feelings I've got at the moment and an assumption that we'll continue to pick out-of-form players out of position:

    (H) QPR - Draw
    (H) Blackburn - Win
    (A) Everton - Lose
    (H) Spurs - Lose
    (A) Wolves - Lose
    (A) Man City - Lose
    (H) Villa - Draw
    (H) Wigan - Win

    Prediciton Total - 8 Points

Basically, if we get any less than my predicted total of 8 points I'll be extremely worried, but 12 is what we should be aiming for. 8 points would be tolerable in the first couple of years after promotion, but not now. We've spent too much of Peter Coates' money to simply be happy with another 11th-15th placed finish, we should be expecting more - and so far this season we've not had that.

No this is not a TP out post, this is a sit back and take stock post.

If we can come to a common conclusion of acceptablity from a large proportion of the fan base, then surely we can be one voice to support or not? Getting and idea of the acceptable tally from these games would mean that we would be united in swallowing our pride for the sake of positive results, or to say he has not achieved what is expected from the fan base!

    The Welsh M <yikes>
I reakon we'll need 10 pts minimum 12 IF as nick said, we play the right team is more than doable. I also Like the team Sgt put out too <ok>
But, WILL T.P. be bold enough, can we get BOTH wingers fit and keep em fit, I doubt it.

Here's where it will get exciting our season IMO rests on those next few games. Don't we have two Europa games in between those fixture's Smither's? If so, it's even harder that it looks right now. And, we didn't bash T.P. in this post either.. <ok>

I think we all know that nothing will change so we'll have to get behind the team.. as always we will do that.

We need 10 minimum. 12 would be brill but I fear we will end up with 8 or less and too close to the bottom 3

Im just wondering where the Pulis fans go when we have bad results?. I come on here and praise TP when we play well (which isnt very often) but I never see anything of them when we get stuffed. Come on Jose and co lets hear your opinions, are you still happy with how things are going?. Ive been slated on here and on 606 for saying this was going to happen and that we are very lucky to have as many points as we have. It doesnt matter anymore what has happened in the past we need everyones opinions on here and was just wondering where you stand with a lot of people asking for Pulis to leave. Im not having a go at anyone.

Always been my point mate - they just vanish or come back and quote FA Cup final.... etc........

I honestly believe that if we all put our differences to one side and give TP a trarget it would be in the best interests for the club! If he makes, stick, if he doesn't - TWIST!

    (H) QPR - Draw (win)
    (H) Blackburn - Win (win)
    (A) Everton - Lose (draw)
    (H) Spurs - Lose (lose)
    (A) Wolves - Lose (draw)
    (A) Man City - Lose (lose)
    (H) Villa - Draw (draw)
    (H) Wigan - Win (win)

    Prediciton Total - 8 Points (12 points)

My predictions match WMs with the info in brackets referring to what I would have predicted a few weeks ago, we'll be lucky, I feel, to get 8 points on current form and performances. 12 points and we should be OK with TP still in charge, 8 pts and we are likely to struggle for the rest of the season unless drastic changes are made.

I've posted further up the thread what I think will happen in the next few games.

You've also chosen not to remember the thread I created after the Newcastle game slating Pulis for the decisions he's making - it was called "Wow" if you want to look it up.

I also created a thread after the Arenal game (I think) slating our style of play, the manager's tactics etc and have posted more than usual in recent weeks to vent my anger at our displays away from home.

I didn't post after the Fulham victory or the Maccabi victory either, so I don't know why you think I've gone into hiding. Like I say, I've been posting more than usual during this dismal run.

Who is it that "vanishes" exactly? As far as I know, I'm one of the few people who actually still want Pulis as manager.

    QPR fan in peace
couldn't help noticing that there was no mention of Crouchie in your ideal starting XI; gobsmacked at that!
I would have thought that he would be ideal for your set up.

We would have given our collective right arms to have landed him in the summer and were dismayed when he went to you, hence the obsession. Don't you rate him then?

As far as your prospects are concerned I think you are selling yourselves short. Every club has a bad run and you're having yours now. I would take a draw tomorrow at the Britannia but we wouldn't feel at all confident about getting anything out of that game.
