I think a lot of the older generation once thought how the younger generation think now. Although one real difference is that the automatic default now is for a private pension, but ppl such as Sucky would still need to be making contributions to one. But generally I'd say you are right, the government are just hoping everyone pops their clogs before reaching it.
I don't have a pension either mate so I've no chance, and also won't own any property I can sell. I've just got a savings pot which will go to my lad. Plus like you say the age will probably be 70+ by then and there's a decent chance I won't live that long anyway so I'm not too worried about it.
I use to think like you, it's the natural thing to do when you are young, but at least you would have been paying stamp towards some sort of pension (state).
Not really got much of a pension here apart from state here. I don't have kids yet so anything i earn can be spent on myself or my wife. Planning on having a few properties and being a nice social landlord but tbh i don't really spend much money so i think i should be okay to get by
At some point in the not too distant future we're not going to have enough working people to support those on a state pension. Cull people at 80 I say
When I checked online I'm entitled to the full state pension when I retire, as my contributions were paid up long ago - so what's the difference between that and what you are suggesting, as I don't know?
Pensions Credit is a means tested benefit though has very generous amounts of savings allowed* . Basically think of it as Income Support for the crumblies . * Not sure if this is still the case but when it was first introduced you got a bit extra for having a certain amount of savings which was an interesting idea .
You can’t go into a club over the age of about 25 I find. Unless it’s one of those **** old people clubs that you went into by mistake when you were under 25 and got hounded by fat cougars the whole night
