Well, it appears that the MTV Music Awards in Belfast went off with out a hitch and was a massive success. Great to see Belfast in the news for the right reasons I was listening to the radio this morning and it amazed me how several people were calling in and complaining that it was on, on a Sunday and they were disgusted because that is the "Lord's day". So people would deny the local economy such a huge event just because of that? I do dislike these bible thumpers who say that everything should shut down on a Sunday and I wish they would dry up and enjoy themselves a bit.
There is some amount of crazies about. Sure look at the state of local soccer. One of the reasons for low crowds is that most people with an interest are playing amateur and park footie on a Saturday. There has only ever been a couple of league matches on a Saturday so as to not upset the God worriers. I have heard it said in the past that the GAA are sectarian because they play most of their games on a Sunday
I didn't but I have only heard good things in the media so I am assuming it went well. Teenage girls must be well behaved.
