Christ knows. I feel sorry for you lot in England. At least I can just vote for whoever is most likely to unseat my sitting SNP MP.

    Absolutely nobody represents me.

You dont, I am going to vote for the party which spells out a green agenda that benefits all , rather than economic growth at any cost to Joe public. Dont yet know who they are but its certainly not the elitist money grabbing bastards currently in Down ing Street. <ok>

Very good question roochie, on the one hand you have a disintegrating party in government a party that wishes to devolve power to the regions, one party of mild manner tories picking off marginal seats and a very poor Gretta Tumbergh sp. Party.

I myself will be looking for a reincarnation of the Raving monster Looney party which is basically a miss mash of the above.

    Hope this helps

I’m glad we can still see the funny side mate, but it’s a disaster really, nobody in their right mind should vote for either of the two main parties, they are bloody toxic.
So the question still stands what do you actually do?

Agreed and l also have a warped sense of humour too, that said l cannot see me voting for any main party and whilst the election is sometime off l will see what's on offer when the time comes.
Before living where l am now l live in Surrey were if you didn't vote tory you really didn't have a say when the vote came in.
Here we have had both main parties represent the area.

I lay the blame for the pile of ****e represented all side of the house of Commons on the constituencies who elect the people to represent you and l in the first place.

This is all like the way people excuse hooliganism, by their club's supporters, by saying, "All clubs have a minority of idiots, they're all as bad as each other."

The Tories are currently the Millwall of politics ...

... no one likes them but they just don't care.

Another 500 boat people arrived yesterday.

There's yet another enquiry into a millionaire Government Minister.

It was ordered by a millionaire PM who's own tax affairs were questioned and who's been fined twice.

Meanwhile people with hypothermia, sitting in freezing homes they can't heat, are being taken to hospital by striking ambulance drivers to be met by striking nurses.

Brexit has been an absolute disaster, we've swapped being controlled by faceless men in suits by bare faced thieves who deprive their own country of taxes and shamelessly share out billions on the back of a pandemic. The £350m a week we would save from leaving Europe seems to have vanished. The forty new Boris hospitals will never be built.

Levelling up is making the South richer and the North poorer.

But worse than all of this we're losing more than one pub every day. Like it or not the British culture has always been a pub culture and now we're being left with shopping as a major pass time which keeps Chinese children fed but is making the country weak. Once a village pub or club goes the spirit dies. Pubs were always a place where strangers met and fostered a community spirit, disputes were sorted and wrong uns policed. New generations has knowledge and codes of behaviour passed on. All kinds of pub teams were formed and supported, anything from darts, dominoes and leeks to football, pool and cycling. People from different pubs would visit for tournaments and coach trips were organised to sporting occasions or the seaside. Old people had their place in the pub and didn't feel excluded as many do now. City centre pubs need bouncers, CCTV and regular police patrols.

This might sound like dopey nostalgia,to some, but we're losing something that's been a mainstay of our society for decades ...

... we're becoming. Americans, online shopping TV watching mall visiting office dwellers waiting until the Chinese and Indians make absolutely everything we buy.

I'm going to fight this to the death by going to the pub every day for a month ...

    ... who's with me <cheers>

My mate down South has a new Polish girlfriend. He brought her up to the North East to meet his mam. He showed her round the region. She said she had never seen such levels of poverty and deprivation in her life. This is a woman from a former Communist dictatorship who left her country for a better way of life. This is the depths to which the Tories neoliberal class war greed has brought our once proud nation.

    We've definitely imported American politics.

I'm off to the local pub 5-8 on Saturday as there's live music on (the village's premier Freddie Mercury tribute and a young lad who does indie stuff). Mind now I'm not drinking beer it'll be whisky so it might be 5-6......

Great rallying cry @Smug in Boots but my local is thriving and very busy which l can stroll to in minutes.
Serves decent beer, food, big screens for sport and music a dart team and football team which incidentally is run by a lad from Grindon.

Long may the Queens Head survive and l will have a pint or more most days for a month.
