I read an extension was offered to Pukki & he's waiting to see at the end of the summer . If they pull off a miracle & go up surely he'll want to try again in the Premier league, if not then a move to America or something for one last pay day . If he beats Iran's 97 goals currently on 88 that may motivate him to keep going.
This has been circulating via cut and paste through the usual rumour blogs without much hard information. It may happen, but Sinani is a useful option in several attacking positions where we're even thinner after the departure of Cantwell. Where is the money going to come from to replace him? On our current budget, he seems the sort of player we would be looking for. Edit: The EDP has joined the circus: "Whether Norwich would be tempted into a sale given Aaron Ramsey was recalled by Aston Villa, Cantwell's sale and Tony Springett's loan move to Derby Country remains to be seen."
"Scrapped" is not the word used in the EDP article. The EDP says only that the planned transfer cannot be concluded in this window, while also mentioning that a Coritiba-based source expects "negotiations" between the two clubs to continue in the summer. There is no mention of how the current stumbling block can be removed, but nor is it likely that the club went ahead without regard to the work permit requirements. We've already signed two players from South America after all.
For anyone who is interested, there is an article on Cantwell's move to Rangers in today's edition of The Athletic. Written by a Scotland correspondent, it describes Todd as "the prototype player for Michael Beale’s Rangers rebuild" and "the dictionary definition of what a Beale buy is likely to be". As for Todd himself, he's quoted as saying "You get the best version of me when I am enjoying myself." Well yes, Todd, quite."
Hugill has joined Rotherham on a permamanent transfer https://www.canaries.co.uk/content/hugill-joins-rotherham-united-in-permanent-transfer Also Rumours that Coventry & Birmngham are interested in Sinani
Great that we are getting shot of some deadwood. Surely our squad is becoming a little thin though? Krul Gunn McGovern Aarons Byram (always injured) Hanley Gibson O'dele McCallum Giannoulis Mclean Gibbs Sorensen Sara Nunez Dowell Hernandez Rowe (when back) Springett Pukki Sargent Idah Another wide player to replace Sinani (if he goes)/Rashica/Tzolis would be great. Not sure Rowe and Springett have what it takes (yet) and we all love Hernandez, but know he is hot and cold. Maybe need a replacement for Hayden too and Id say another CB/RB would be super!
What happened to Gibbs or is he injured? I lose track. He was one of the positives to come out of the Dean Smith tenure for me.
Harry Wilson rumoured to be going out on loan and loosely linked with us. Not a player I have ever taken to really but could make sense
Reckon he is probably better than Sinani and at least as good as Cantwell. Would be a decent replacement for both if Sinani should go. He has an excellent goals/assists record at Champ level 47 goals and 37 assists in 165 games
I think he’d be great! Though it would be a bit strange - it needs to be a loan to buy if we get promoted. And I can only imagine that would be accepted by Fulham if they have someone else coming in and by him if no Premier League offers arise.
He’s played 12 times this season, mostly from the bench. Doesn’t sound to me like a player they would be looking to loan out. At 25 it’s not about his development, perhaps with a guaranteed future fee it could happen
The "Wilson to Norwich" don't look terribly reputable, think that's probably some wag with a twitter account trying to look "ITK" and other sites thoughtlessly reporting it. Suspect any transfer dealings might come very late in the window, our needs (and budget) are relatively minimal. If there's a team desperate to get a player out on loan, maybe something happens late on, but I don't think we'll be forcing the issue.
Transfer market lists Wilson at £17m, so he'd likely cost well above that. I'm more concerned about the loss of Cantwell and possible loss of Sinani. We're very thin in those positions. Yes, Giannoulis could move forward as he's done for Greece, but that is only a partial solution. If Sinani leaves and Dowell gets injured, we could struggle.
Sounds as if Liverpool are expecting 5th-choice CB Nat Phillips to leave the club in this window. Could he possibly be on his way to Carrow Road?
Seems unlikely - despite the Hanley haters I suspect Wagner is happy with his CB options at Championship level, given how we play
