I'm with you - it was another step in the right direction. Still not what we'd like but we've got to detach the dislike of Jones in all of this too and make a performance assessment on face value.
Philosophy question for those of you who worry about this sort of thing. Shall we keep this thread for the second leg, as it’s kind of the same match?
We looked like a League Two side in the first half, but had them on the ropes for a good 20 or so mins in the second despite conceeding, so it depends what they saw of it really.
I disagree, I was encouraged with our movement, up field press and forward passing in the first half. Couple of things didn’t come off, which started to in the second. We looked vulnerable when they went through our press with a bit too much space between the press and our defence. The left hand side was god damn awful mind
I think, unfortunately, that we need to make the assessment on goals scored and wins now. Those are literally the benchmark for whether we stay in the EPL. Another blank and another defeat where playing reasonably well wasn't enough to get the win.
