That must have been objective number two, stay in it, even if the odds are against us up there, strange things happen. 1976 and all that!!
Stop crying he's a good player and he was being fouled from min 1... Thought your goal should've stood BTW but our 1st should too .
No. We need to be tough and aggressive, but not sh*thousery. I don't know why this has become popular among fans recently. It's absolutely unnecessary.
I loved Romeu, like so many did, but he wasn't the same player for a while before he left. Whilst I didn't want him to leave, it wasn't such a great loss as we'd like to romanticise. Kinda related, Diallo has taken loads of stick recently, and sure he's been poor in matches before this, but I for one still remember when Romeu first joined Saints. He was allergic to the ball and a liability with it. Diallo can grow like Romeu did, and tonight was hopefully a leap towards that.
Rest Lavia Saturday, then start him next week with Alcaraz and JWP. Tough on Diallo, who did well breaking play up, but his distribution was so poor again.
Definitely positives to take out of that. Our ****ness in the final third ultimately cost us getting a result but Diallo was very good and I really like the look of Alcaraz. Glad we kept it to 1-0 in the end though. Will be a very tough ask but it's only HT effectively.
Can't agree with that. It's quite clearly been a huge problem for us this season. If there's been any romanticising, it's been in regard to how good Lavia is, and how important to the team he is. As great as I'm sure he will be, he isn't close to Romeu at the moment.
