Well, firstly I have to say the best two players have been Salisu and Diallo. I'm pointing that out because I've been critical of both lately. Djenepo still a passenger, seems to be having trouble understanding Jones' instructions. Orsic crap so far, makes Elyounoussi look good. Charly doing well, but cheap yellow. Nice to see someone shoot from range though. Mara looks lively. Ultimately a bit lucky going in at 0-0.
Few observations: - Mara has something about him. In a team that create for their strikers, and keep the ball on the deck. he would thrive. - Alcaraz looks good for his first start, tries to do a little too much sometimes but he is a positive player. - Orsic may as well not have played. He added nothing and doesn't looks way off the pace of the game.
Mara, Alcaraz, Diallo and Salisu look quality. For me I'd get Orsic off, Struggling tonight, I'd have Arma move yo the left side and help out Salisu, Get on Edozie.
He's been very good. Not outstanding though. And almost gave it away in a dangerous place at the end there.
Yeah it’s him in a nutshell. Is very good when we don’t have the ball and breaks play up well but is terrible on the ball with passing and decision making
Touch of luck at the moment but I’m loving the intent. We’re lacking a final ball. Feel we need Edozie on for Orsic and think maybe Perraud
Is why he always looked better in a 3, just win the ball and pass 2 yards to one of the other CMs to start something
When you have a world class team a common compliment is that “they make football look easy”, we are so good at making football look so bloody difficult. Every pass feels draining to watch, 2 meter passes going astray, booting the ball instead of making the simple pass. Being unable to make clear cut opportunities etc.
Also just a bit worried about the overall strength and tenacity of our team. Getting bullied a bit at times.
Only thing he's done wrong for me. And he did get rid in the end. IMO he's been outstanding, he's won a lot of tackles and broke up several Newcastle attacks.
Did they really just spen a few minutes saying it was not handball. Whilst showing multiple angles of the newcastle playing handballing it
I’m going to give Alcaraz a bit of credit for swaying the ref’s decision for the disallowed goal as he was appealing for handball before Joelinton shot. The other players just seemed to accept it was legit, by their responses.
Fair enough. For me, 'outstanding' would imply that his all round game has been on point. And that includes passing and vision for a midfielder. It's only really the tackling that he has done that well. But anyway, fair play, hats off to him.
