Depends on the squad no matter what division you are in, I look at this squad and think are we in our current league position because the squad is crap. I think no we’ve got a pretty decent squad capable of being mid table at least.

    Look at the table.

We're not in the relegation zone.

We have a better goal difference than those around us.

We have a game in hand.

We are comfortably outplaying most of our opponents including Arsenal.

We have a good enough squad (apart from defence imo where we are bottom half championship at best).

I agree, it’s just a shame we haven’t got a coach to reflect that league position, defence you mean the same one that when they’re finally organised correctly they keep a clean sheet against Brentford?

You mean the one coach Marsch organised with his new signing Wober playing a key part? Yes, that one.

And that's what I'm saying mate. I'm genuinely not wanting to argue with you, Doc, 2penth or anyone. I just want to give him this window to improve what he feels he needs to improve. Wober looks decent so far. We desperately need a left back and maybe Wober will slide in there when Cooper is fit. I dunno.

Doc said last night about losing at Forest and then twice vs scum and the predicament that leaves us in. I agree but if we sack Jesse and put a new manager in place it doesn't mean we avoid defeat in those games either. WE HAVEN'T LOST THOSE GAMES JUST YET.

In my head I'd keep with Marsch for now. I don't think he'll take us down. Then give him a chance next year with the remit of not being anywhere near the bottom three at any point otherwise he's gone.

At the end of next season I'd bring in Corberan regardless. I think he's a good fit for us football wise with the squad we have and he knows the players and has respect.

If he takes us down, go and get Corberan. He will bring us back up.

    (Morning btw! <laugh>)

he’s been talking about performances not results. It’s a fair discussion as to whether performances have actually improved. We were good at Liverpool and spurs before the World Cup.

we’ve played 4 of the top 6 form teams in our 6 games. And about to play another 2 form teams in our next games.

Sometimes when you play a team can make a difference. I mentioned at the time that our two games getting cancelled when the queen died, weren’t great for us. Forest and Man U, were both in disarray at the time. Now when we get them they’re in much better shape.

I’m not arguing mate and I don’t take your replies as argumentative <ok>

Those both defending him, and criticising him usually make very valid points no matter what side of the fence they are on.

Some of my criticisms are a bit tongue in cheek from time to time

I’m more annoyed at the board, mainly for bringing in a coach who didn’t provide, or wasn’t able to provide a smoother transition when Bielsa left.

Without every ounce of information available I don’t know if I’d truly sack him right now, I don’t know who would be available to take over. I also doubt Radz is pulling the strings, I think that’s the 49ers.

But swings and roundabouts mate, we have Wober and the unknown Rutter available, we have a fit again Bamford, an on fire Gnonto and a fit again Ayling.

Teams recently have had a habit of breaking bad runs against us, we get kicked in the teeth the hardest when expectations are highest

We’re three points above the bottom club (who have actually won more recently in the league than us). I’m kind of where Ristac is (and Ristac please correct me if I’ve misunderstood you). We are in the position we are in for one of two reasons.
    1. The players and the squad is crap. Or
    2. The players are good enough then the coach and the tactics are crap.
If the coach and the players are both good, we’re not in this situation?

Hope we do go on a three in a row winning spree. Apart from the safety it would provide it just might give us a break from the Jesse bashing. Wow. It’s never ending. At least the players are getting a break from it. <whistle>

He deserves questions being asked of him. Every other manager down there with a similar win to games this season has been sacked. Let’s hope our faith pays off.

Out of the bottom 11 teams only Leicester have scored more goals than us and that's with us having played a game less. Attacking wise we are good solid top 10 side. We look dangerous.

I've said from last season that I don't rate any of our defenders. I called for a whole new back 4 this window. That's where my issue is with the players. We have been individually **** all season. (Ayling vs Cardiff a perfect example and I've loads more).

So the solution (to some) is Dyche it or change tactics so we are defensively sound. The issue with that is we stop creating chances at the other end. I thought we had a good balance against Brentford where we created a good amount of scenarios up front whilst comfortably keeping Brentford at arms length the other end. Most fans were happy with the performance after the game but come Monday morning started quoting Keown and some other idiot. All of a sudden we don't score enough or we don't use subs correctly.

There's an agenda against Marsch from quite a few fans. I'm not asking anybody to like him. I'm not saying he is the next Pep. I'm just asking to give credit were it's due because quite a few of the fan base are calling for his head but imo we are much stronger if we give him a bit of support. That might help our situation a bit.

Sorry. A couple of weeks ago people were asking about his defence? He's kept a solid clean sheet at Newcastle and completely nullified Brentford like nobody else has since 2020. This week its "we're **** in the final third!"

Whatever he does isn't good enough. This is why, historically, many former Leeds players and coaches have said ER is a tough place to play due to pressure from the crowd. When we are with the team we are great but if we are not winning it must be a nightmare.

Ignore Eire, he’s just a bit moody as he can’t bash the board with his stick for not spending and strengthening in January. It’s his fault for leaving it laying around so if we want to bash Jesse with it it’s his fault ;)

Difference is I won't bash the board because they've done what I wanted and spent. Seem to have done it well. Im fair and give credit where due

I agree apart from we still don’t have a quality, pacey left back. Can’t remember the last time we actually bought one. And I’m not counting Dallas or Alioski because although they ended up there they weren’t bought to play there.

It’s as though Leeds see left backs like a vampire sees a crucifix.

I read an article a while back about new manager bounce. Some guy had tracked a load of stats and concluded that although you might get a couple of games where a new face, new ideas has an impact… generally the bounce happened anyway if you didn’t sack the manager - ie form/confidence are typically cyclical. Now if your team is genuinely better or worse than the rest of the division player for player, then it maybe doesn’t matter who manages them.

There are a world of examples of managers who had a torrid start who went on to do great things. One of them is top of the league at the moment.

I’m not saying Jesse will be one:biggrin:. But like emu, I try to look at performances and I see (some) positives.

It’s my main beef with marsch. If you don’t think firpo is up to it… insist on a new fckng left back.
