For this reason alone they will not win the battle with the NHS. Not to mention the hundreds of millions wasted on unsuitable PPE through contracts which were also awarded to their mates and party donors.
Having moved recently from public sector to private (though still interacting with councils etc) I am absolutely staggered at the slow pace of getting any progress on anything. Even fairly simple emails take a week to get a response to. It's starting to give me the eye twitch. I'm working at what I consider to be an average pace as I'm still learning but people are losing their minds at how quickly I'm turning things round. It's weird.
It appears there ARE no depths to which this cesspit of a party will not sink to. It is almost as if there is a competition between them to see who can take the piss out of taxpayers/voters the most. Rotten to the core.
The PM has announced a big recruitment drive for people capable of carrying out independent enquiries ... ... the current staff are totally overwhelmed
Rishi Sunak Said in PMQs last week that The matter had already been addressed in full and there was nothing more to add. But the media won't let it drop and now he's decided "some questions need answering". The pesky public and media eh? How dare they demand accountability and truth? This government have lied, deflected and obfuscated ever since they were elected. The truth is only ever a last resort and often comes with a false resort to try and make themselves out to be a victim. I'm not sure how anyone can trust them to run this country for any longer than is necessary.
I found the same, when I left local government, I found that I was working at the same rate in the private sector and had finished my work in about two days each week while all of my colleagues were complaining about their workload being to high. I just kept my head down and enjoyed taking the bigger pay packet for doing about half the work I was doing in the public sector.
It is not only WHAT they do, it is the temerity to do it in the first place and the sheer lack of any compunction or guilt about it. They **** in the public nest and then rub the public's nose in it when they get caught. Arrogant lying Tory ponces.
For me the worst part of rubbing our noses in it is that they actually believe it will all be all ok’d if they come out with the standard “ it was just a mistake” “ it was just a slight oversight” remarks. Does the local plumber or butcher get away with any discrepancy on their returns by claiming “ an innocent mistake”
When Darlington chairman George Reynolds was stopped by police and found to have £500k cash in his car boot he went to jail for 3 years for tax evasion. These bastards are taken for an expensive lunch to the Ivy restaurant by HMRC and agree to pay a pittance to "move on" and "draw a line under the matter". The bloke was Chancellor for God's sake and in charge of all taxpayers money.
I’m sure an ex tax man once revealed that when it comes to the very rich , their targets are not based on numbers caught or amount recovered , but by the success of “ deals” made in order to get the case closed and filed awsy
We have become so accustomed to these stories, they think that we don’t care. They have run the line that “they are all the same”, so that they can get away with sort of behaviour without any consequences. My fear is that they are so far down just now, it’s a bit like a team going 5-0 down, then in the last minute, they get two soft goals back, so their fans think they did ok really considering. So expect a tax give away a couple of months before the election to be their last minute goals.
The only deal should be , here is your tax bill, pay it in full today or go to jail, then we will take assets to the value of your tax debt.
Sounds like the fact that Zahawi had paid a fine over this wasn't revealed to Sunak. There seems to be a lot of deliberate omission going on from someone. Zahawi should have come clean on all of it, because this was always going to come out.
Unfortunately tax is a negotiation when it comes to the very rich. Primarily because they can afford to hire people who can wrangle the system, no matter how watertight it is, ending up with them having to pay nothing, so it's a choice all governments have to make. It shouldn't be like that, but it is.
