Just a couple of points from me.
The league is no easier or harder then any other year. The 24 clubs in the division are here because after 46 league games they have fallen, risen or stayed at this level. In addition we should probably be able to handle any rise better than most other clubs as we have a decent financial backing.
I dont think we deserve to be anywhere near the top 6 based on any level, other than possibly financial backing. We have been a bog standard club for the last few years and only hard work and putting together a run of results will change this. My only expectations are progress which I can see in some ways. I feel the club still has a happiness (or possibly possitivity) surrounding it which has definately been missing over the last couple of seasons. Sadly, where it counts, on the pitch we go from a fairly decent team to a worryinhgly poor team for no known reason and I find this a worry. The signs of us losing 'something' were seen in the Portsmouth match where we were lucky that they were even worse than us. Since then we have suffered 3 losses and none of these were unlucky. We have been outplayed in all 3 of them.
I dont want us to turn into a club where we have a revolving doors policy for managers. I like the way this club has always had a emphasis on doing things the right way and I want us to continue with that.
I do have worries and I think this is only natural for all fans. I couldnt believe we gave Healy 27 minutes to prove himself but the rest of stuttering midfield 3 games to sort things out. We have a strong squad on paper but a group of highly experienced players who cant do the basics.

Clown or something similar is fine but not a medical condition!!

Its good to see the pro Jewell brigade ranting and resorting to personal insults! Just shows how desperate they are at clutching straws. Perhaps if a few actually went to a few games instead of being armchair experts we would end up with a more constructive discussion!

JWM, I am a season ticket holder - does that make my comment more or less important?

Portman & Tractorbhoy of course your comments are valid and I respect your indvidual points of view, Just because I don't happen to agree with some of your comments on the state of our club doesn't make me bipolar or fickle! Wouldn't life be boring if we all shared the same thoughts and opinions. <ok>

JWM, I dont think I have accused you of either of these or any other derogatory comment. There is no need for name calling or insults regardless of viewpoint. I dont always agree with your view but I know that your comments are always from the heart and I would like to think that we are all adult enough to discuss pros and cons without the need for a slanging match.

Am I pro Jewell? Or am I just pro Ipswich, pro stability, pro gradual progression? Call it what you will I am the same as everyone else and just want to see some improvement. A top half finish would have satisfied most at the start of the season, what's changed?
Don't tar everyone with the same brush, I never get into name calling, sure I have some sly digs at people but mostly in fun but there is nobody on this forum who I wouldn't sit down and have a beer with.
I guess I should stop posting though because I can't make it to matches and so my opinion is worthless. If you hadn't noticed JWM a big portion of the Ipswich not606 community is made up of people who don't live in Suffolk. Perhaps you could make your own group only for those who go to matches, how many would that leave you to talk to? No more Spanish, Naxos et al. Is it that what you really want?

Fair Point SD I deserved that and thank you for bringing me back down to earth!

It is just so ****ing annoying being a Townie and has been for the last 5 years. And no I would never support another football team but sometimes especially on Saturday I was so close to just chucking my ticket in the bin! I apologise if I caused any offence amongst my fellow Townies but this ****ing team is driving me to despair! <yikes> When will we get the team we all want?

I'm just as annoyed as you mate. I get up at 06:45 on a saturday morning to get treated to performances like that. I guess I'm lucky I don't have to actually watch it but I still wish I was there. If we finish top half you would have to call that progress. It may be slow and painful but progress is all we should be expecting at the moment. It may take longer than we all want to build that promotion team but we all know we will stick by our team through thick and thin regardless. ****, I'm not even sure I want to go to the premier league.

Tractorbhoy, even if I disagree with you on certain things, I can always see where you're coming from, there is always some thought behind what you say!! I'm quite glad that over the past few months our views have differed slightly because under Keane I was quite concerned that we were infact the same person as I agreed with absolutely everything you said.

Spanish, I do agree with your comment and apologise if anyone takes offence to what I have said but I was just using it to describe a character trait. But for you to take the moral highground is ridiculous, what you have said to members on here including myself has quite frankly sometimes been disgusting and if it were out on the street you could get arrested for it.

And JWM, to me you are like Marmite, sometimes I think your brilliant and then you really wind me up with the things you say, I respect that your a diehard ITFC fan but once again you goad people into saying stuff by talking about a pro Jewell brigade (which I am not yet) and armchair supporters when to me that matters for zilch as I 've been to games and I know people who have been to the same game have a completely different view of the situation to myself but someone who lives halfway across the world has one more inline with what actually happened at the game but you say things like that then suddenly change you tune offering a fig leaf and taking the moral highground when if you hadn't goaded people into a response and just had reasonable debate in the first place you wouldn't need to do this!!!

I would happily not have slanging matches with you guys and just have good debates!!

Fairplay ptc but in future please can you put full stops and commas in your sentences because I ran out of breath halfway through reading that!

This is a football forum and the beauty is that we don't always take things too seriously!

Can we stop all this dividing fans into pro-Jewell / anti-Jewell, it's childish and I don't think any Town fan with half a brain cell is 100% anti or pro Jewell at this stage. For me the jury is very much out, he's made mistakes but has done alot of good in the 10 months he's been here.

If any of us decide to argue in favour of Jewell it's not because we are simply pro Jewell and are blind to everything that goes on at the club it's because that's how we feel.

Well said Svendust. It drove me mad on the old board being labelled pro/ anti.
I am backing PJ at the moment, partly due to lack of time, partly due to the way he comes across but he has made mistakes and all I give on these pages are my honest views on what I see/ hear.
They have not come from any other agenda other than how I feel that we can move forward.

Portmanpaul, is that a question aimed at me or are you asking people where they would rather be on a tuesday night? For the weather I would much rather be in san diego. If you are asking about man city or barnsley I'm not sure what you mean or how to answer.
