Exactly this. We are so far ahead of where any sane person would ever think. The owners have been highly ambitious so far and the finances, from a FFP perspective, are becoming tight. If I were to guess, they probably expected a proper CL push in a couple of seasons and by then, had the sponsorships etc in place. Eddie being amazing was the hope, but probably not in the logical thinking
What do we do about it though? I suppose we got rid of Wood which has helped. When I looked at our wages they're not that high besides some of our better players. Targett apparently on 100k a week and Shelvey on 70k a week, everyone else is on reasonable wages compared to many other clubs.
Because you have to subsidise loans as players are on wages that are too high for the target buyers. It will get worse as we buy better players again on even higher wages.
Winger/Forward for depth and a DM to go straight into the team for me. We could miss out on top 4 if we have to keep playing Longstaff, yes i know he works hard and tries his best, but he isn't good enough.
I think we'll spend around £150m in the summer. As a result they want to keep it tight this window so as not to **** up FFP Everton style. In the summer we're probably going to announce a renewed deal for Noon.com, a deal with Saudia and possibly Addidas. As much as our current deals excluding the Noon one are **** we'll probably only be about £30m a year better off. If we can bin off the ****ty Sodexo contract - We currently get £2m a year for all food and drink sold in the ground when others like Spurs are getting £20m a year inhouse. It adds to the coffers. In addition - We haven't replaced a single Sports Direct/Fraser Group/Flannels/whatever other **** mike sells - advertising board yet - so again more income from that. There's been rumours that the boxes are all getting looked at for being done up - We flog ours at £38k a year whilst others (Chelsea) sell them for £1m a year each. The whole organisation under Mike was just **** and shoddy to benefit Sports Direct and Fraser Group. This is why the whole 5,000,000 that claim to have ditched season tickets meant **** all to him. He had guaranteed income from TV money and the whole "don't buy the pies" didn't even register a damn thing.
