Different one. Your thinking of the Kung Fu King aka Nigel who plays at Man City. This is Luk De Jong from FC Twente.

He just said having a "star player" can take teams to the next level, like Barca with Messi, Arsenal with RVP, Man U with Rooney and Real with Ronaldo etc. We wont blow a load of money on a new signing, he said it could be Ba, Ben Arfa or even someone like Sammy who becomes our iconic star player.

He has a point but there are also examples of successful sides who dont have a standout player though, Man City have world class players but none stand out quite as much as the examples listed above.

Probably because they have several players who would be standout superstar players in any other team, like Silva and Aguero.

True, I dont know if there HAS to be a star player though, if the team becomes reliant on that player, then he gets injured it severely weakens the side.

No way he's a horrid individual and he's on silly money. I'd rather get a player that still loves football and not money more.

Name me a harder working player..... Also all the incidents he has been involved in have not been his fault.

It's always interesting for the wrong reasons, however surly Ash etc will see this as a great opportunity to bring money spinning league positions and europe back.
