Hold up ? I thought lots of people didn’t want him because of his terrible goal scoring record ? And thought he was over priced? Or should try and do a loan first to make sure as it was too much of a risk? Or that we should buy a striker instead?

But now our neighbours want him we’d suddenly be a joke if we didn’t sign him? It’s a bit head spinning to be honest

 

I know what you mean but they're separate questions.

Even if someone thinks he's not the right player for Saints to sign it's perfectly okay for them to also think that, given our current predicament, if the club believe he's a player we should sign we need to move quickly and get a deal done rather than haggling too much and risk getting gazumped.

Another average winger isn’t what we need. We need someone that can make an instant impact. I don’t see what this guy brings that Djenepo doesn’t.

I'm really hoping Jackson was a smokescreen and we've got someone else lined up otherwise this is extremely embarrassing.

 

If I were keen to buy a car that I'd valued at £10,000 and someone beat me to it with a bid of £15,000 I wouldn't feel embarrassed at all. I'd just be left with the impression that they were foolish.

I got the impression from what NJ said about sticking with the current squad ., and not some new player , that he was in effect saying we aren’t going for anyone else .

 

Now we’re basically a lolz club, the best part will be that despite essentially becoming the world’s first Premier League club of comedy, when we stay up on the last day to confound everyone.

 

Not sure what the embarrassing aspect of it is. If we’d offered the same money and he chose Bompey, then yeah. But they’ve offered 5m more than us.

He wasn’t even their original target. That’s kind of embarrassing on their part. Can’t get Danjuma? Who else have you got?

Huge gamble for a player who has only started 8 La Liga games.
