I am slightly guilty of cherry picking myself as he kind of proves and disproved the point because up until the red card he was impressive. So much so that the chelsea fans in the days afterward where including him in their fantasy teams for next season even though there is no buy option and I think he extended his contract

 

I'm not saying start them. But Orsic has been on the bench 3 times now, and has played for about 15 mins combined. He should have come on a lot earlier on Saturday. Completely bemusing to leave him on the bench for so long.

 

Have we signed a striker yet?

I actually think Bednarek would do a good job for us under Jones so, yeah, happy with this if he knuckles down.

There's a reason he's not playing for Villa. He's not good enough, and wanted out of here in the summer to get his move to a "big" club. Clearly gone well.

 

Depends on the reason for a recall. If we are selling him then I’m sure everyone would be happy. We’ll know soon enough as if he is in the squad for a game for us it means he can’t be sold this season as he can only be registered for 2 clubs a season

 

He's already played for us this season, so we're not selling him.

 

We got rid of him because he wasn't good enough and he essentially bad mouthed the club when he left.

I agree. I am half-happy with this, because presumably it means we aren't spending out on signing a new CB, so funds can go towards a DM and attacker.

But, I'm not sure Bednarek is the answer and he was a prick when he left. This is a bit embarrassing for both him and the club.

 

He has PL experience, has played well for us in the past. For all we know he could have fallen out with Ralph. As for the comments he made, not very wise but if he comes back and plays well that will soon be forgotten.

 

As we don’t know the ins and outs I’m willing to give it a chance.

Bednarek was decent for a long time here and only turned to **** in the last season or so, when everyone was ****. He also was really unsuited to the “run out of your defensive position and engage on the half way line” that Ralph loved. He might do well under Jones and if this means that whatever money we have can be spent on a striker rather than brining in a centre back as well then that’s a positive

Couldn’t care less about what he said when he went somewhere else. Players always talk bollocks in signing interviews about how big a club they are joining and how it’s a dream etc. if we are recalling him then he obviously hasn’t completely burnt his bridges here with the players and coaches

 

Bednarek has also scored the most goals out of the CB's we have. He's got on the end of far more JWP set pieces than any of our other CB's.

 

I reckon he wants to play a back 3 and probably sees Bednarek as a useful part of that

 

Maybe Jones will play Bednarek as a LB and dispense of any attacking threat down the wings completely.
