He's got a point though. It does seem alarming that we're crowing about a home draw against Brentford. How low are we setting the bar on our ambition? As well as Wober has played wasn't he bought to play left back, so we still haven't addressed that issue because in all honesty Struijk isn't one really.
Not Struijk’s fault that he’s been told to play there but I noticed on a few occasions that an out and out quality, specialist left back would have got to the byline and whipped in a few dangerous crosses. Or at least combined better with Gnonto down that flank. Struijk simply doesn’t have the pace for the role and it’s pissing me off that left back hasn’t been addressed. Can’t understand it at all.
I'm not crowing about a point at home. I'm frustrated that we throw points away when we are the better side. It's happened all season. However, our options up top are improving every game. Early indications are that Wober might sort out some of our problems at the back. Performances are good, confidence looks good, players are working hard. The results will come if we keep playing like this. I agree though that we need a left back. Cooper being injured scuppered our chances of playing Wober at left back. We'll have to see if that's the plan.
I have to say when watching MOTD last night and both Deeney and Keown came out with this I was somewhat annoyed but quickly found myself agreeing with them. We might be playing OK at times but not winning a game since last year is begining to rankle. Win the next two games and that will prove we are moving in the right direction.
Just more mindless anti Leeds Utd rhetoric from two brainless idiots. Have any of them managed any team.
We did play a good side on a good run and playing with a lot of confidence. Yes it's a pity we aren't winning games, but I really think we are improving.
100% I got the impression wober was probably cooper's long term replacement who 'could do a job' at left back for this season. IF Coops is fit next game, we may see if that's what happens. To me it doesn't solve the problem. Wober may have played left back for salzburg this season but you can see he's a centre back. For all the talk of narrow play, March historically plays attacking full backs who's job is, as you say, to create overloads on the flank and put crosses in. You need a bomber of a full back for that. Rico henry seems more of a marsch full back to me than struijk or wober.
Emu Struijk is a LCB not a LB, think we can agree on that. So why not use Struijk in his own position and play Wober at LB? That’s a choice made by Marsch
Did you see Struijk play left centre back at Cardiff? That's why he wasn't trusted there. Marsch played Wober centrally and we kept a clean sheet. Good decision?
The one positive from yesterday's result is that this forum is now debating why did so and so play in this position, because we didn't win. It's a lot better than so and so is crap, he always makes those mistakes in that position, following a defeat from a defensive error
If Marsch is any good he will find a way to unlock a packed defence Didn’t happen yesterday, other teams will take note Whilst we played well we need goals to win games I don’t believe Marsch has any excuses any longer is he just out of his depth?
That’s open to debate however I’m not interested in Chelsea or Liverpool just us and we need goals to win games let’s see comments if we don’t get 3 points at Forrest
FFS Man Ure back to back games coming up! Realistically I think we need to beat Forest, Everton and Southampton to demonstrate progress and if we get anything in either Man Ure game I will consider that a bonus. Whilst on that subject...what is the difference between a BJ and a bonus? You can guarantee that your wife will blow your bonus....boom,boom.
