Ingram is a capable championship keeper and it would be pretty harsh for him to lose his place. However, Darlow is much much better
I haven't seen him play much since he moved from Oxford, but from what I can gather he couldn't break into the Burnley side. I can only imagine that if we are after him then it's because Greaves is going to be out for a while.
Figs just doesn't fit into the style of play that Rosie plays, Figs isn't a ball playing centre half, he is a more old school, physical stopper-type centre half. Since Rosie has come in, Figs has dropped down to the bench and hasn't been included in the squad for the past 2 games, under Daws and Shota he was a first choice centre-half.
He had an injection to play in the cup game but seemed to come through it fine. We've only got a bench of 7 so players are going to miss out
If he's right sided you might be onto something. If he's left sided then maybe wanting more than Macca with Greaves at LB. Ah, so it wasn't a striker.
https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/n...ey-aim-to-edge-huddersfield-out-of-agreement/ Hull City will not be finalising a loan deal for Karl Darlow in the coming 24 hours, with Newcastle United ruling out an exit prior to their EFL Cup clash with Southampton tomorrow. Darlow is seemingly in contention for a place on the bench in Newcastle’s semi-final first-leg, with Martin Dubravka cup-tied. The 32-year-old or Loris Karius will serve as cover for Nick Pope at Southampton. Eddie Howe has confirmed that he will not be sending any of his players out on loan in the build-up to that first-leg clash at St Mary’ Maybe OK to proceed after that game or depends on result ?????
Its the first leg so I doubt its result dependant. He probably just wants to utilise his squad to rest someone and then send Darlow our way. As it says Dubravka is cup tied so its between Darlow and Karius for the bench most likely
Just strange we thought keeper was a position we needed upgrading. It's not as if Ingram has been poor. Could have done with a fullback instead.
I don't think this is necessarily an upgrade. More a case that GK is a position where you should really feel you have 2 keepers competing for the shirt, as can't afford to be weakened if one of them is injured. None of us have seen Lo-Tutala - presumably the coaching staff are still concerned as to whether he's good enough to replace Ingram if he were injured.
It'll just be what's available in Jan. For a team with lofty aspirations, we'll want to strengthen defensively significantly. There's nothing wrong with Ingram at all, but I don't think he's a top 6 player, and I think you can say the same about Jones and McLoughlin too
