Absolutely desperate to be relevant to us when in fact we couldn't care less. Just another home win for me.
Swansea are better than the Boro, and WBA better still, we were missing, Pritchard, O Nein etc we can not only make the play offs but win them. just need to stop getting injuries.
Great win, thought we bossed them pretty much all game. They actually played better with ten men, but we still had more than enough for the win.
I thought at times we made our own problems. You can tell there's confidence in the side with the way they pass the ball around and there may have been a bit of over confidence now and again with balls being played short and flocks not coming off at times but that's been over critical. We had more than enough against them and they only had the odd chance
I used to work in Teesside many years ago and they couldn't get their heard around how I wasn't arsed about the 'Boro" game...to me its another match. There is only one Derby...there will only ever be one Derby...and its not against them
Really pleased with Alese as well today. Really solid _ sure he won every header. Hope his injury isn't bad.
Thats the one, he played in a televised match few weeks back , in a midfield role and scored direct from a corner early on , looked a decent prospect, and is available, worth a look at imo.
There wasn't really but I did think we took the foot off the gas a bit after we scored and let them back into it a bit. But like I said I'm being overly critical.
I thought this too for a period of 10 minutes in the second half, even Tony said the same in his post match interview. But even against 10 men it's hard to keep up that level of intensity for the whole 90 minutes.
Did not weaken us at all loosing Evans imo., Michut is still raw but a great prospect to have alongside Neil , as is Ba, not sure they understand how to play together just yet, if they do crack it they could be awesome.
Although I would like to keep Pritch Michut is a bloody good replacement if that is the plan. Was nervous about today. There was no need. They played some pretty tippy tappy football until the area that matters and then they were poor imo. Their No8 had a canny game I thought. Thought we played well, could have been a lot more if we had took our chances but 3 points is all that matters and the mighty SAFC got them.
I worked for the Boro for a couple of years which overlapped their move from Ayresome Park to the Riverside, ( circa 96-99) this was during the Ravenelli, Johnenio (spelling) era, they used to get good attendances and had a decent team but they couldn't work out how they were perceived as the smaller of the three North East clubs and that still doesn't sit well with them even today. They've just never got it that they weren't able to compete with us and the scum, both in size of club and media following. They really are a strange lot, a middle of the road club with very little history to back up they're big ideas.
Boro look a better bet than Swansea to me, and we are not far behind either, we'll see how it pans out in due course, that was a massive result for us today in the scheme of things. .
Well thoroughly enjoyed that. Deserved win and some very good performances. Thought the defence was excellent today. Like to see a solid back four. Baath does what he does but thought Ballard Hume and Alese were excellent. Love watching this team at the minute. Maybe need to be a bit more clinical up front and Physical in midfield but I think that will come. Just keep doing what we are doing. Progress in the last 12 months has been immense
After last weeks game I was nervous. Boro on a good run etc, but so happy with todays game. So many very good performances. The player who impressed me was Alese. Obviously living in the USA I only get to a few matches a season and watching on tv is never the same. He just looks so accomplished and assured on the ball. I’m not saying he was man of the match, but he did what he had to do with ease. Off to Spain for a couple of weeks but I’ll be back in time to catch a couple more games before I head home. Hopefully we will keep up the push for playoffs.
