Couple of seasons ago at this stage we were top ... and finished 5th ... if we hadn't lost effectively the whole first choice back 4 to injury in 2 seasons running we'd have got top 4 ... but therein lies the difference ... the Big 6 can more or less cover most positions like-for-like, quality wise ... the teams below that don't have the same squad depth ... we ended up with an academy lad at left back and a defensive midfielder having to fill in at centre-back ...

If you can keep your first 11-14 fully fit then you should be able to bag a top 4 place given that, in this particular season, Liverpool, Chelsea and Spurs are all misfiring ... but it's a big IF ... one advantage you have over us in our second 5th finish is that you are not also playing European games ...

All the best btw ... I love seeing the Big 6 getting flustered ... <cheers>

You lot in general spend and buy within your means and have to sell often to raise funds for new younger talent. Nature of the beast if you don't have insane mega bucks owners.

I personally worry that top 4 is too early for us.

What do you predict the top 4 to be? (If you can be arsed, i appreciate you are interested in Leicester not NUFC)

I think we will actually finish 4th now, we've hit a bit of a lucky season with Chelsea, Liverpool and Spurs being ****e so hopefully we can see it home.

    1. Man City
    2. Arsenal
    3. Man Utd
    4. Newcastle Utd

I think Arsenal have added a bit of depth to their squad and will see it through to win it.

Kane not dropping so deep would be a big help, Spurs have struggled since Eriksen left.

I don’t see Maddison playing in a Conte team though, if Poch came back then possibly I’d see how he’d fit in at Spurs

Question is, do Newcastle stick or twist with Howe come the end of the season. Even if you finish Top 4.

I'd go with what you have ... if I could get a free bet <laugh> ... actually think the Goons have a really good chance of winning it ... because Citeh's priority is unquestionably the Champions League <cheers>

What? He reminds me of the time Hughes took charge of City.

The difference is everyone knew Hughes was a useless merry go round manager, Howe isn't, or at least he hasn't yet had the opportunity to judge him either way, and he did a great job at Bournemouth.

He isn't some washed up dinosaur like Hughes, Allardyce, Bruce... the list goes on.

He's still a young upcoming manager, and that's what excites us fans.

Always rated Howe ... can't argue with what he achieved at Bournemouth on a relative shoestring... no real surprise that he continues to do well with a bigger budget ...
