Didn’t follow live…. Why did we switch to a back 5 in the second half? Same thing we did at Fulham, same outcome
I find myself agreeing with Adam Blackmore. The bad old days and five at the back is back - no way to get out of the mess. This will turn into shock horror story not unlike the last 12 games before relegation under ‘Arry.
All part of the plan. Howe will be planning his cup final tactics as we speak. Just need Tom to email the club and ask for a refund for Tuesday's match now
Big shout out to Salisbury & Hooper/West. Michael had a stormer & hopefully will be promoted to the PL top tier games moving forward. Magnificent spot from the “clear & obvious” VAR team today as well. Making sport so enjoyable.
VAR has added absolutely nothing to the game. Having all the joy sucked out of you by a belated decision on a freezing January afternoon, is not my idea of positive use of technology. ****s…
Hard to see us staying up now. We were marginally second best today and I think a draw would probably have been fair. The referee is probably counting his pennies this evening, I don’t really condone it but I think as soon as it became obvious the ref would give every single tap going we should have started diving all over the place. However, although it was better than Jones previous PL games it still isn’t good enough for us to stay up. Fair enough for the City result, but I don’t think Sport Republic have been vindicated with their left field appointment. I think the right manager could have kept us up, but I don’t think Jones is it and now I think it is probably too late to amend that.
Still feel like the players aren't getting the blame (along with the manager) that they should. Too many passengers in the squad just watching things go by.
Just got back so I can sum up my post-drive home thoughts. Firstly, our goal should have stood. Simon Hooper should be sacked on the spot for getting involved as VAR. And now Jones has a cast iron excuse for another tame, limp, pathetic home loss. I really thought the City game was a turning point. I cannot warm to Jones at all as a person but the City game had me starting to believe there was a good manager in there. For me, it is unforgivable to leave Orsic on the bench until it was too late. I will give him the benefit of the doubt with Alcaraz but that game was crying out for Orsic. And yet again we concede from a set piece. Who the **** is working on these on the training ground? It's embarrassingly easy for teams to score. Oh, and Lyanco is not a ****ing RB. Go back to ****ing basics Jones, KWP at RB, Perraud at LB with Salisu and DCC as CB's. I do not understand his obsession with Lyanco. I'm fed up with these toothless home performances.
10 days to sign a striker, or we're going down. That isn't to say that if we do sign a striker then we're staying up; I still think our chances of going down would be high. But if we don't sign a striker, then we can say goodbye. Sure, Che didn't get much service. But he was still appalling. Spent most of his hour either committing fouls or hanging around on the touchline or standing watching Villa passing the ball straight past him.
