One problem i have with our transfer policy is that it seems to be big money buys or promising kids . Really think we should be looking for some 20-22 year olds who have a season or 2 of senior football and can be got for say £20-30m .

he was £39m so you are in the realms of pretty big money and obviously there will be exceptions but my basic premise stands imo .

I get where you’re coming from but what does 20m get you these days? Onana played 1 year in Germany and 1 in France and cost Everton 35m.

Anyone in England, play 1 year and suddenly price is 40m min.

Id rather we spent big on 1 or 2 players each year than big 3-4 for mid range money who end up being squad players. That’s how we got mediocre under Rafa etc because we never improved the first team.

    Gk - Ali Kelleher

    RB - TAA ramsay
    cb Konate matip
    cb Vvd gomez
    lb Robbo tsimikas

    rcm - Hendo elliott
    cm Fabinho bajcetic
    lcm - thiago ?

    rw - Salah jota
    Cf - Nunez firmino
    Lw - diaz gakpo

Thats a decent squad. The defence is alright and has cover. Forward line looks decent just needs time to gel.

Like we’ve all said midfield needs legs and energy. Now add in Bellingham and caicedo (just examples) and suddenly spending £150m on 2 players and weakest area becomes very solid and squad looks great.

bar Elliott can never never never play rcm again. firmino swap for Jota.and out Elliott rw

you've written only 1 cm name there I want to see in our midfield 3 next season

that's the reality Henderson fabinho and thaigo are shot through. jones forget it. kieta and ox forget it

    that's 5 signings needed.

yes forwards might be "ok" if they develop.

maybe back line is OK but it won't be long till 2 or 3 are needed

    our midfield sucks arse.

I normally agree with Jimmy on a lot of things but I do think he has a blind spot on Hendo
Hendo has been crucial to the way we play under Klopp
    He frees up players
I am a massive admirer of the hard workers as I thinks all teams need them
One of my mates can’t stick Hendo either - he seems to be a bit Marmitey
I know I won’t convince Jimmy of Hendo’s attributes but for me a far better captain then Gerrard
I hoping he has a couple more seasons left in the tank
The fact we don’t seem to be able to replace him should speak volumes same with Bobby imho

you are right. they have been important.

Jimmy is also right that from here on they are not the same players at all.

replacing quality and the energy drive.and leadership is not easy. its a 120million pound replacement so that should say why Henderson is now missed already for us.

the player that came on today is not the same guy from 2020.

Totally agree and have said as much
    Hendo is a massive miss
I am just hoping that he can get back to some of his form
I think Thiago is a great player but not suited to our setup without a Hendo or Wiji in their with him

I personally think thaigo is a.pure an utterly luxury player who is only suited to play against sides.who sit back.

he's responsbile for getting bajceitc booked today and his laxity and sloppy play cost us time and again today in our own half. he will.never just clear it or play into the channel for anyone.

against wolves for 55 mins he had a field day cos the others did the running and he was in acres.

    200k a week. no thanks.

we need 2 cms ASAP to play with bajcetic as my assumed no 6 next season

thiago, milner, kieta and ox must go out. this is bloody scary. we have an 19 year old and the rest are taking up wages and just on the back foot every game.

Henderson needs to realise he is now there to be the bit part and man in charge of fines etc. infect he could be the rb reserve as well next season for the laugh.

I'd love to get Bellingham, caicedo and anyone else Jimmy wants for him.but reality bites with fsg.

cheslea are gambling their future on the fact the rules are not changed until next year.

they will have a massive anchor on them for next 6 to 8 years for spending so I can see a lot of sales soon. the issue is their best player today was silva not anyone else and azpi came on and did the same both goners.

they need to take back in a lot of cash somehow and have about 9 on big wages now who can't fit in squad.

fsg will simply not even try this. nunez fits that.model but we then say nope no more.

That’s my points. 2 midfielders now and team looks good. Next season, another 2 first teamers possibly in defence to replace Matip.

year after, another midfielder to replace fab plus wide player for Salah.

Keep the squad together, add a couple quality first team players each year and can get back into decent shape.

yeah but 2 now means we barely have a midfield. we need 4. reality is fabinho is toast, thiago is toast, Henderson, toast.

came on again today into a 30min game as "fresh legs" and couldn't get anywhere.

this is a lot of work.

we've bought Jota, then in 18months needed diaz and nunez and now gakpo but we are not improving as we do so, cos the resources are relying on spent legs to allow this slow build at 50mil spend a season (gakpo Brought net to this)

admittedly it wouldn't be easy for us as everyone adds 20% minimum to the price but i would argue this is why we have little midfield cover - though right now we have little midfield to cover.

Fab Hendo been worked non stop. Buy 2 midfielders for the first team and suddenly can rest/rotate Fabinho plus add some competition. Can’t write these players off for a bad 6 months

I find it funny that some fans criticise Klopp for favouritism then display exactly the same trait on here.

Thiago only made sense if we had kept Gini as they are literally opposite to each other.

The fact he was signed as Gini's replacement made zero sense.
