I think that had more to do with Tetteh and Longman coming on and us shifting our tactics than Tufan. As said earlier, I think the plan was always to stay tight for 60 then get at them.
maybe it’s cause you was watching it upside down… bloke has the best touch and vision in the side going forward and needs to play 10
Just watched the highlights. Benji deserved his red without a doubt, but I’m really confused as to why the sheff utd player didn’t walk as well. He put his head in first. Tetteh returned the favour with slightly more vigour. If the ref saw benji he surely saw their lad??
Aren’t sure if anyone’s seen the video of city fans throwing a smoke bomb at a car but really starting to get sick of some of the away crowd. Putting me off going.
Tufan not starting reminds me of McLoughlin who many were calling for when 3 managers hadn’t picked him (before Rosenior played him). “Three managers don’t fancy him so maybe he’s not as good as we think”. Think the similar is the case with Slater in reverse. The doc to meyler would be more of a fair comparison, technically frustrating but do their bit putting themselves about doing the ‘unseen’ stuff. If he’s as good as some say I’d cash in the £1m clubs will be lining up to pay and reinvest.
This doesn't make sense as McCann was picking him, and it was only Shota at the start of this season who dropped him for Figueiredo. So really it was Shota who changed the team to fit in one of Acun's signings, and Dawson who didn't change things, before Rosenior re-instated him.
He appeared just to be moving it and it landed on the car. A fan following behind removed it. Big deal.
I recall Meyler being played on the wing and even at full back in a pinch. The comparisons aren't that far off just Meyler was a better player
Regarding Tufan. He clearly is a quality player with the potential to ignite something but at points he can be a passenger and to be honest for team balance I can see why he's dropped. Seri is creatively very good but defensively can be found out and Oscar is an out-and-out poacher who can go missing at points. If my teams spine consisted of all those 3 I would be worried and adding in Doc/Slater to break things up is understandable when we've shipped goals for fun prior to Rosenior coming in. If Tufan is to start then in reality you probably drop Seri not Doc/Slater and change the midfield around a bit. Personally I would do it as I think all our creativity at this stage is way to deep in the pitch but when Ebiowei and Longman both start I feel like the wing play alone will help alleviate that. Break up the play and give it to Seri who can find the wings.
