totally agree with this, although Hugo is starting to worry me. For me, it’s become very apparent that we need his long term replacement sooner than we may have thought.

I think a top CB and a RWB will make a huge difference, too. Shame Udogie wasn’t part of things this season, but that’s another to look forward to.

I think Hugo will be good going into the 23/24 season as a back up.

Right now needs to be dropped for a short while imo.

Yeah Lloris just scrapes in on the basis that the mistakes he’s been making seem more of a mental thing than him just turning **** but we knew that this season would likely be his last as first choice keeper anyway and that next season he’ll be backup or maybe even allowed to leave if there was an opening elsewhere. Hope he gets a testimonial though, fully earned it.

Lloris should have been replaced last summer but Levy did not fancy splashing out on a replacement, so offered him another 2 years instead, a bad decision in hindsight. Hugo has been a great servant but these days is a liability, and at 36 he is only going to get worse, if Levy had any kind of sense he would be splashing down money for somebody like Raya or Oblak asap.

Trossard’s agent:" Spurs were in contact with us for the last two weeks. But it was we want him, but wait this, wait that. Wednesday We got in touch with Arsenal - 24 hours later they had an agreement.“ -

If this isn`t vintage Levy then I don`t know what is, not that I am too bothered about Trossard, because we have more urgent areas of the squad to improve, but this shows how Levy operates. It is rumoured the same nonsense is happening with the potential Porro deal also.

Hugo himself suggests he's got a bit of a mental block right now

...but, of course, as it;s Dan Kilpatrick reporting this we should be on the lookout for black helicopters. A blogger said so

Might be best to give him a game or two out of the spotlight. Let him refocus. He’s not really helping us much at the moment. Likewise Son.

    1. Said tactics have resulted in material defensive improvements,
but they are now coming with a worse material cost (see the
    "Squad performance watch" article) .

    2. We shall see if the return of a rejuvenated Kulu
has the same effect he had in the second half of last season.

It's an odd one with GKs, because on the one hand dropping them can let them refocus - but on the other sometimes they regain their focus by having a good game, for example that match against Blackburn a few years back after pundits were getting on Gomes' back where he made some great saves and the crowd were cheering every save he made (as well as Robbo at the other end, making it a weird GK love-in)

Which is why last night was a pisser: some of the saves Hugo made in the first half were the sort of things you'd hope would spark his confidence...and then the second half happened and after taking a step forward he went two steps backwards

So Levy doesn't think it important to sign a player you don't think we should sign and that is his typical behaviour. But this behavior is nonsense. You need to engage your brain before you post mate.

So the good news is that we might not be getting constant Zaniolo and McKennie stories for a while...

    Zaniolo Watch
    ...I spoke too soon

Di Marzio claims that he's straight up told Roma not to pick him for this Sunday's game with Spezia, as he wants to be sold this window

An injury-ravaged player with confidence issues? I don't think Everton will bite twice

But remember, none of the youngsters we let slip through our fingers wind up in elite leagues...

Madueke, along with Walker Peters, Edwards, Lo Celso, Ndombele and Sessegnon are all reasons that I genuinely hope that Pochettino does not return.

At the end he moved away from his principles as a coach imho.

He walked into spurs and got rid of those who didn't buy into his vision.

Adebayor, Lennon, Kaboul and Dawson were all moved on.

Kane, Mason, Bentaleb, Winks, Onnomah and Carroll were all given opportunities as were cheap buys such as Dele and Dier.

He got rid of Townsend because he challenged the concept of team by reacting badly to being asked to warm down after being an unused sub.

Jump forward 2 years and Dier flirts with United (after JM publicly tapped him up) and Rose gives THAT interview and because he was personally close to them he allowed them to stay and played them week in week out no matter how poor they were, whereas Walker was sold the minute he was tapped up and made it clear he wanted out.

Walker Peters gives man of the match performances but is rewarded by being dropped for months on end.

Then he decides to not buy any players cos Sessegnon, Lo Celso and Ndombele weren't available.
And the following summer paid out £140m on them and Clarke.

I loved what he did for us but Pochettino seemed to be trying to show richer clubs he could manage big players towards the end.

Lots of our squad problems come from decisions he made imo.
And so I do not want him back.

I was highlighting the way Levy operates pal, but no surprises you chose to interpret it to suit your own narrative, given your obvious thirst to defend Levy at all times, even in the face of his clear incompetence and limited desire to win silverware. Maybe you should engage your own brain, open your eyes, and realise how you are being taken for a complete mug.

The bald fraud also bid £12m (apparently, if you believe respected media channels) for Trossard, so he must have thought it important to sign him. For the record, I would welcome any new player, given how dire our squad is, but in my opinion we should be strengthening other areas of the squad first.

Just out of interest, are you related to Levy or Lewis by any chance? As you certainly have an unhealthy desire to agree with or back them at all times. There must be a reason why you are so staunch and resistant to change for the better.

It's simply because I believe ENIC are doing the right thing. For all your rants you never answer the questions I pose.
By the way, we are above Brighton in the League so it is quite beyond me how one of their rejects would strengthen our squad.

Yes, you highlighted that he was doing exactly the right thing.
