We are all hoping that the form from the Cardiff game is going to be carried over to Brentford on Sunday. We should also get to see Georgi boy probably come off the bench, so things seem to be at a more positive stage than they have been for a couple of weeks. However we still haven’t won a league game for a while so need to do this and start to get the monkey off Marsch’s back. Whacky story doin the rounds that Roma are going to allow brilliant Italian International Nicolo Zaniolo to leave. Hes fallen out with the club and fans and wants to come to the premier league. Spurs are now trying but apparently we are too. Roma want €40m…. If there’s any truth in this it must be a 49ers thing? I suspect, Spurs, WHU or Arsenal are more likely than us. Charlie Cresswell has gone from being the future of the club to maybe we will sell him. Another young CB from Portugal 17yo Diogo Monteira is looking like arriving at the club this coming week. He is now plying his trade for a team in the Swiss league for Servette, but is seen as a future full Portuguese star? So in theory Cresswell has gone from hero to almost zero by not playing enough for Milwall. Yet another bad choice of loan move. Bournemouth have signed a new player for £23m so a big investment, WHU have splashed the cash too, Wolves have already spent £70m this month with more to come, and in the process of signing that prat Craig Dawson today from WHU. Forest spent another £25m on a Brazilian midfielder this week and we dodged a bullet as Chris Wood moves to Forest too on loan with a £15m guaranteed purchase price at the end of the season. Saints, Villa, Leicester are all investing too, but still waiting for Everton who are trying to loan players and getting fobbed off ….. lets hope our spend has been wise and works to ensure our status. Have had that feeling of dread for most of this season before every game. For some reason I am feeling more postive this weekend simply because of the way we played the other night. Yes it was against a pants side, but steamroller football was on display. Also this weekend we will see a new defensive set up as long as Wober is fit, we will also see some firepower available with Rodrigo, Bamford, Georgi boy, Sinisterra, Gnonto all available for selection
If Dannny Ings is worth £15M then how much does that make Rodrigo worth ? Not that we should be selling him but hopefully everyone now accepts that he was a very good signing.
The villa son in law can't believe they managed to sell him. Never rated him. Hard to believe what'll see for 15m these days
Just looked Rodders stats up. 73 starts for us. 23 goals. Not earth shattering but a decent return which should get better now he’s settled and playing well.
How many of those 73 starts had him playing out of position to allow Paddy play in his preferred spot. Id suggest if he'd always played where he has been this season he'd have scored a hell of a lot more
There's no place for Paddy and Rod in the same team, not if you want to get the best out of Rod. Which is what we've seen this season.
It surprised me earlier at the presser where Marsch literally said he can see a time when he has Rodders, Paddy and Georgi as a front 3? Yeah let’s have no midfield?

So far under Jesse's system we've not really had chance to see them together. From the start I mean rather than when Bamford has come on and we're chasing the game. Not saying you're wrong but let's wait and see how all our attacking threats can combine before dismissing possibilities. Plus at the end of the day it's about winning football matches and not who scores the goals.
Good match tonight between Burnley & West Brom. Coberan has got Albion flying but this will be a real test of his coaching acumen. (just for those of you that are missing the Championship )
I've been to West Brom a few times since he's taken over, they're playing much better under him but think Burnley will be too strong for them
Without turning this into a Jesse bashing thread, I don't have confidence that Jesse will make the right calls up front, I do fear that he will try to shoehorn everyone in. I agree with Gessa it has to be Bamford or Rodrigo, what we don't want is pulling Rodrigo off every game on 70 minutes and then Bamford firing a blank too and eventually having both suffering. Rutter can't possibly be near a start surely, he hasn't played since November. Let's consider him in the FA Cup game next week and concentrate on getting Sinisterra a few more minutes on the pitch, just reading that Cooper, Wober and Koch have all recovered from knocks
Should Manchester United and Leeds United not require FA Cup replays they will meet at Old Trafford on Wednesday 8 Feb at 8.00pm. Then they play again at Elland Road on Sunday Feb 12. Graham Symth YEP
