I’m hoping it manifests into us chucking £50m at Brighton for Mitoma but in reality we’ll just see the club announce a new deal for Sessegnon and that he’ll be moved to LW in the summer once Udogie returns.
Nizaar Kinsella says we’re interested in Oblak. Dickhead read my post from yesterday and decided to make a story.
According to that table we should be hitting the quarter finals of the CL almost every season if not every season but those using it to justify our lame league attempts won’t correlate that into the discussion as that points a finger where many don’t want to point it
Right, which completely undermines your previous arguments too. The path to success is to either outsmart or outspend everyone else. We do neither.
Not us, certainly not me Levy and ENIC mate I know where we should be I know a 5 year project going into its 8th year makes no sense I know Levy lies I know he doesn’t back his managers like they deserve to be backed I can prove this He’s not capable…he’s not a footballing man His trophy is the stadium…he can build that…he can’t build a winning team and create a winning club…he’s had 20 plus years. He doesn’t deserve a single season further of my support. He’s not interested in football success and quite frankly anyone who thinks otherwise with him having delivered 1 measly league cup under his watch needs their head looking at. He doesn’t deserve my support anymore…I don’t follow Spurs to support him
We are 5th? we have finished up there and better more often which suggests we do. My arguments excepts the unexpected as in 'exceptions'. Riight now we have Liverpool, Chelsea, City, United and Spurs underperforming and and what happens when the 5 underperform the 6th Arsenal profits.
I think you've misinterpreted my post. The problem is exactly as you describe. We are caught in the middle. We are not able to compete with the clubs above us for the very best players. We are miles ahead of the rest but the bargain hunting strategy they employ isn’t likely to bridge the gap either. The long term answer is to keep the revenue increasing so we can compete. Having €150 m of extra revenue would add enough to buy the best players, pay their wages and not have to haggle so much. The short term answer is to get £1B for a 25% stake and use it to buy the five best players we will join us.
You wish to take that view because it justifies your stance That table is of clubs in Europe it’s not about how many places the PL gets in the CL We can argue about numbers all day but everything demonstrates that we have the most unambitious owners when it comes to football success when compared to their riches and when compared to their positions in the table of finances. That doesn’t mean some of us demand that we spend the most…it’s not even a conversation considering our owner seems to be struggling way before that stage by failing to get a relatively simple transfer with a modest price tag, over the line. He should be much more forthcoming in supporting his manager or it won’t work because his big fat ego will ruin the relationship as usual.
There is a huge correlation between wealth and success but correlations are never 100%. Your reasoning is flawed because we don't get to pick the best players....the clubs above us do. ENIC have got the strategy right...it's to grow the revenue and to outperform our current financial status. Over their tenure both have happened.
Don’t need the best players to win things…don’t need to always outspend to win things That’s too simple a way of looking at football and quite baffling if one has been watching the game for a long time. Look at the Spurs board as an example of that fact its got threads on it about Youth, injuries, finances, loans etc etc etc why? because it all has to be in working order for success to be achieved hence why fans show that interest…and all that isn’t due to financial numbers…it’s management of the club and that’s not manager of the team I’m talking about who’s duty bound to fill that role. Like Conte said….other people at the club pulling the strings need to be questioned for their part in a club not reaching its expectancies. You might think we are fine…the numbers align…but I’m not an accountant and I know football doesn’t work that way someone at the very top is stinking the place out with his lack of football knowledge.
