the lad did well. made thaigo look good.

My question is this; would you be willing to wait for bajcetic to grow up or would you still by caicedo who is really no better, just older and more filled in

Bajcetic looks good enough to fit into a functioning midfield, but it's a bit much to expect an 18-year-old to pull together a struggling one. I can't imagine we'd be willing to muddle along with a relatively impotent midfield whilst waiting for a lad with potential to realise it.
But it'll all be ok when Bellingham gets here, he's at least a year older. :)

Looks really comfortable on the ball in tight spaces. Happy to receive it and can bring it forward.

Also has the legs and energy of youth to be able to close down. I’d rather start with him at weekend assuming he’s fit than Fabinho who still looked leggy when he came on.

Love Bajcetic but there should always be competition. Cream rises and all that...

Agree but surely in order to make Fab realise he is not at the standard Klopp requires him to be at he needs to be left out of a game like Chelsea.

the domestic cups are now used by most teams to play weakened squads to allow squad players to gain some playing time.

I think we need legs in midfield for the style Klopp plays
I like Thiago but he has to have people around him doing his work

we shall see soon enough what Mr Klopp decides on :)

Always makes me laugh when people say such and such a player is too young.FFS Rooney was banging them in when he was a kid,so an eighteen year old can certainly take their place in a first team.

they can but equally we've seen this boy is still slight and growing. He meets a huge amount of the needs of the position but we still have to mind him.

rooney was a hairy backed granny basher at 17 that looked like he had a 40 a day habit and lived in a weatherspoons.

As i recall gerrard at 16/17 was a short arse and he sprouted up. we over played him in 2000 and 2001 and he got a lot of injuries as a result and imo later on it curtailed his career. But then we just over played him all the time just cos well, you had to.

I think bajcetic has shown a massive level of ability in terms of reading position and tactical placement for an 18 year old. he's shown a wide passing range and also ability to make the right run at the right time.

He's also shown that he lasted 70mins v wolves in a real mans game doing to leg work for thaigo. Thats the main concern.

but Chelsea, irrespective of form or issue are a massive step up form wolves and exposing a kid to a drubbing away at cheslea might not be wise.

Theres also the keita conundrum. Can we play him again v cheslea and hope he won't get injured? I'm not so sure. IMO he must start but i am kind of waiting for the inevitable. He is playing for his next move imo and compared to ox he seems to be doing a harry kewell (lazarus has risen.)

Ox is gdoing a markovic, didn't looked bothered v brighton.

My thing now is do we buy or try to buy or do we put the eggs in the bajcetic basket. if we were 10% better off for top 4 i'd vote bacjetic but at this time I sincerely doubt a midfielder is being bought anyway.

The club keeps telling fans it is not buying.

My question is probably regarding next summer.

Do you buy caicedo (not happening) and bellingham (not happening) or buy The nunes lad out of wolves (apparently more realistic) and bring on bajcetic (classic Klopp)

the fantasy football midfield of caicedo fernandez, bellingham is cheslea style buying and 300mil of money.

is it? sorry, i thought it was the return fixture not the cancellation.
    I didn't check it.

At home, i'd be more tempted to keep bajcetic in for 60mins start.

I think Gerrard's sprouting was the cause of a lot of the issues with his back - growing pains.

Bacetic went down with cramp also during the game, was listening to a podcast yesterday (Football Daily maybe) and they said that could also be linked to his growth too.

or he was knackered as he did a **** load of running in men’s game which is much more work than against under 18s and has only just come back from injury so probably isn’t proper match fit?

it could be but honestly i don't think he's got any taller in the past 12 months.

I recall Gerrard would be out after sitting on an airplane to a European game and then be out for back injury or hamstring) i think it was in his first book?

he for sure grew significantly before his debut under houllier. he shot up.

Bajcetic was out with a hip injury in training for 2 weeks prior to the wolves game/ brighton game on bench. so that might have an impact on the cramp too.

What i'd like to think about really is Caicedo is 21. at 18 he was back in his home country and barely played 25 games before joining Brighton aged what 20? now he's a 100mil player....

For me here we are looking at an 18 year old who is taller (over 6 foot, just as fast and able as a CM) who can be just as good or better than caicedo is now. Why spend 100mil when we have done the job and spent 250k on!

is instant success that important? we need 6 CMs. we've let the rest fall apart that's on us. next season we are looking at Bajcetic, fabinho, henderson, thiago, jones, elliott (and this is simply not acceptable situation then IMO)

What is the midifeld scenario thats going to deliver success but also enable us make this kid into the next caicedo.
