So after looking at the squad for the friendly games on this international break.. One thing has left me a bit confused.

I think we can all agree that Carl Jenkinson is not ready for top level international football yet, this is not my issue.

My issue is, that he is an undeclared player, who can represent either Finland or England.
In the squad there are only two notable right backs: Glen Johnson and Kyle Walker.

Now we could argue that Jenkinson could quite easily compete against Walker, which I think he could.

The question is, why would the England management not want to have Jenkinson declare for England at this would be suitable time, when he clearly has an amazingly bright future.

If Walker is picked for the senior team, then surely Jenkinson would be in the under 21's? He is better then the lot of them at the level now. Anyway its England's loss.

Hang on, Micah Richards didn't make the squad? He plays for the best team in the PL, and earns his place amongst all the big money signings. Proves Capello is off his rocker.

This is exactly what i was going to say. Why on earth would you risk Jenks playing in a meaningless friendly that England would lose, especially when Sagna is out? Also, Jenks is getting better with each game he is playing with us. Also, he isn't ready for International football yet, but if he maintains progressing, then he will be ready in a few years.

You should probably read what I wrote. I had already stated he isnt ready for International Football. BUT he is an UNDECLARED PLAYER, meaning he can play for more than one nation, and as of yet hasn't chosen which nation. Capping Jenkinson for England ASAP would be wise.. He has a massive future, and will be a great player someday, why would you not wan't him to be a part of the England set up. THAT is why I suggested he should of been called up. Not because he is the best player for England in that position.

Give Jenkinson a cap in a meaningless friendly and he can spend the rest of his career as a one cap wonder, he is light years behind Kyle Walker who in my opinion will be Englands Right back for years to come.

There's no point ... Jenkinson ain't gonna play for Finland, never has had any intention of it. He'll be called up when he's ready.

Kyle Walker is nowhere near Richards yet. He looks like he's going to be the badgers nadgers so I'm not knocking him but Richards is a better at the moment and still young. Shocking he's not been included again.

No disrespect to Finland but im sure when the time comes, he will chose England. Besides, i doubt he has any aspirations of playing International football at present. He still has to cement a place for Arsenal yet! I think under 21's is more appropriate for his level.

Agreed Richards is better but appears to be out of favour with Cappello and if Harry gets the job Walker will be in pole position for the shirt

He's already played for Finland U21's and U19's, so in my opinion, he will probably choose to play for Finland.

Capping Jenkinson in either of the Friendlies wouldn't mean anything for his international eligibility, it has to be a competitive game for that rule to come into place.

And, just to add another twist, maybe he'd rather play for Finland than England, for patriotic reasons?
