Agree, but I can't see us doing this until Summer, as who goes will very much depend on what division we are in.
Are we going for a full 3 up front on the left? Formations don’t matter, players win you games apparently so why not try adarma edozie and Jackson up front. The oppo RB will be in the ****.
Gallagher, Lavia & JWP would be a very good midfield and with good wing options it would take the heat off the striker, whether that would be sticking with Che or any new arrival
I imagine we'll have enquired if he was available for a loan until the end of the season given what he did for Palace last season. We'll be overrun with players that play that sort of position if we brought him in too.
What is Gallagher’s best role? I thought he was mainly a 10? Or would it be that him and JWP are two more attacking 8s with a sole 6 in Lavia ? I got the impression if we go that way then that is why we signed Alcaraz. And that, as usual, having someone else who can reliably play that sole defensive 6 is more of the issue. And Gallagher isn’t that player
I know Gallagher is not a veteran, but if there is a possibility of getting him in then it would give Alcaraz time to settle to England and the PL
I’ve got a good feeling about Alcaraz. Yes he misplaced a couple of passes on debut, but he was also in the right place to stop a shot and to stop a cross from reaching an Everton player who was sneaking round the back of the defence. A couple of times he was quick to reposition himself for passes, after an Everton player had got between him and the ball, showing good awareness, and he showed a willingness to get forward quickly. I would be happy if he started Saturday.
He also put in a pass across the front of their box which found JWP in space. He shot and Pickford saved. Showed good vision I thought.
I'd have thought that if Gallagher was available, Palace would be at the front of the queue. But given Chelsea's long injury list, I'm not sure he really is available (this month anyway).
