A crackdown on illegal tv streaming is taking place. Not sure how much truth there is in the last paragraph. Looks like they are trying to justify their actions, rather than go after burglars, muggers and rapists, who seem to have a free run of things based on clear up rates. POLICE will visit hundreds of homes this week as part of a massive crackdown on illegal TV streaming. Users will be told they could face possible prosecution after being identified in an ongoing criminal investigation. The clampdown comes after raids by West Mercia Police on a UK-based illegal subscription streaming service offering entertainment and sports via modified devices. Police have been able to access a customer database and are also using digital tracking. The devices are used to watch live Premier League and European action on the cheap, as well as other live sports and movies. Police have joined forces with anti-piracy investigators FACT in “Operation Raider” and the knock on the door is likely to come as a huge shock. Culprits could be served with enforcement notices and warned of serious consequences if they continue to use the service. Police say there is a clear link between illegal streaming and fraud, scams and organised crime. The action has the support of the Premier League and broadcasters such as Sky, BT Sport and Amazon. Det Insp Matt McNellis, of West Mercia’s Cyber Crime Specialist Operation, said: “We are able to deploy cutting-edge digital tactics to identify and detect people who break the law before carrying out enforcement activity. “Often illegal streaming is used to fund serious organised crime and we are committed to interdicting this source of criminal revenue and reducing the harm organised crime groups can do to our communities.”
Judging from that they've raided a supplier and got the customers information. Sounds like a few people in the Midlands are going to get a knock on the door.
I do wonder what they could have on people though. I signed up to saints player with a throwaway email and paid by PayPal to an admin so can’t see what data they have on me. IP address maybe, but that is normally protected behind my vpn.
Romeo Beckham makes Brentford B debut as father David watches on - https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/64234563 Not so glamorous as Miami.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-64333540 Pathetic from Cardiff. Remember all that 'one of our own' boĺlocks on here that season?
Just watched a really good documentary about Athletic club. I know saints had a lot of links with them back in the day so interesting to learn more about the club. (They supposedly play in red and white stripes because of Southampton fans etc):
