Pedro and Louis might not be fully fit before the end of this season Club has to give incentives to our top players to stay, how different things are now from 2014-15 when everyone wanted to be here
Another big name coming to the Vic in the 5th round. “The draw for the FA Youth Cup 5th Round has given #watfordfc a home tie against either Newcastle or Arsenal (who play this Tuesday at 7pm). Fifth round ties are to be played by February 11”
https://m.tuttomercatoweb.com/amp/s...lub-bianconero-ceduto-a-due-fondi-usa-1780119 The Pozzo family have sold Udinese to 890 Fifth Avenue Partners Llc and Group Nine Acquisition Corp. The package also includes a share of Watford and the acquisition will take place in July, when details will be revealed. An investment of 200 million Euros in Udinese is mentioned, but percentages are not discussed. I think that I remember reading about an EFL rule that second club ownership (as would the case relating to Watford) is limited to a 10% share. I wonder whether Sabadell (a third tier club in Spain) is also included in the deal (as has been previously reported). Perhaps this is the 'game changer' to which the person on WFC Forums referred - rather than a player - although he remains convinced that there are still incoming players.
That 200 million euros nowhere near covers Watford's rumoured debt, so I wonder how the 10% share will help.
Udinese Calcio have categorically denied the report in Tuttosport (which is supposed to have close links with the club) and say that similar news is without foundation. I remember reading an article about negotiations taking place between the Pozzos and the other listed parties in 'The Athletic' last November. It reminds me of the saying that "There's no smoke without fire".
'The Athletic' also reported in November that the Pozzos were looking to keep control of Udinese when they brought in investment, whereas the article in Tuttosport had the headline "Udinese is American" and gave the impression that control of the club had been sold by the Pozzos to an American investment fund (although no specific details were given).
The original official announcement was I think 30% Udinese, 10% Watford and 10% for the new Spanish team. It seems far too early to announce as I would expect the purchase of the Spanish team would come first. I think it's certain that there will be additional investment but when is a different matter. Close season is most likely and sensible for all reasons and particularly finances.
Maybe, just maybe, that is why the Martins deal took so long to finally iron out, with all this future change possible impacting all of that deal? I'm clutching at straws!
The Youth team will play Arsenal in the 5th round after they won at Newcastle 3-2. Probably put a few more on the gate potentially as it’s a local team.
Not a good look on the club and sure they are very sorry. But seems to have been very settled. Unfortunately a lot was probably hidden or not considered serious in the past. Hopefully football and society is better now .
I guess someone has to make reparation to the victims, but does seem unfortunate for the current owners to be the ones - if I'm not wrong, this all seems to have happened during the Petchey or Elton John years?
And dare I say when GT was here ? Certainly won’t be the only club though dealing with histrionical allegations .
