A back four might be a good option now, it’d result in Sessegnon, Dier and Doherty being dropped for starters as they can’t play in a back four so that’s a small win right away, though it does also mean Perisic can’t either, albeit I think most would rather see him take the LW spot over Son at the moment. We don’t know if Spence can play RB but it’d be worth a shot because no one wants to see Emerson there, RB or RWB there’d still be a black hole of zero attacking help down that flank. Davies isn’t great offensively but he does possess a good cross for when he gets forward, he’s actually the second best crosser from FB/ WB after Perisic, it’s just he lacks the attacking impetus to make that effective enough on a regular basis but we do know we can rely on him defensively. The stumbling block is does the formation contain a three man midfield or a four man attack? None of our midfielders are overly creative, albeit the Bissouma of Brighton was a great ball carrier and Sarr looks like he could well be too. We’d certainly have energy and industry though and that’d make us hard to penetrate through the middle if we went with a midfield three, that could also allow Spence (and even Perisic) to play FB whilst allowing for the FB(s) to essentially still operate as a WB(s) as our midfielders have the grit to cover any forward runs - akin to how prime Liverpool under Klopp were with Robertson and Trent bombing down the flanks. Alternatively a front four would either see Kane and Richarlison as a partnership or Kane being deployed deeper - something CK has suggested in the past. I’m not personally a fan of the latter, although on paper it may seemingly look attractive, I think it’s also a huge risk taking the club’s best and most potent goal scorer and having him play a permanent deeper role where he’s needed for more creativity than he is goals. Especially as Richarlison has never been a consistent goal scorer (and is yet to even score in the league for us), Son couldn’t score if he had three goals in front of him at the moment, Kulusevski is more a creative forward than a scoring one as is Perisic should he play LW and as is Gil. So the players in front of Kane if he were to be deployed as a 10 don’t fill you with too much confidence of grabbing the goals required, not like Kane does. A possibility could see Kulu as a 10, Perisic (or Son) on the right, with Richarlison (or Perisic or Son) on the left and Kane as the striker, though that does potentially mean one or two forwards playing in their secondary positions. Ultimately though everything I’ve just written is all rather pointless because we know the system won’t change and on the basis of how we’ve played this season nor will the tactics.
They charged the geezer who kicked the Arsenal keeper...35 yrs old... how do you get to 35 and not figure that A. You dont attack people cos your team lost? B. You cant get away un noticed when there are 20 plus tv cameras in a stadium cctved up to its eyeball? ffs the stupidity of some is shocking
I've said elsewhere I'd be open to Bielsa until the end of the season while we reassess and wait for more options to open up. At the very least, he'd beat the **** out of some of these players (literally) and we'd play madcap attacking football.
It's London mate, all prices are higher. And the stadium is full so people are prepared to pay them. It's a terrible outcome for our poorer fans and I wish the club would do something to help them more. But we've got loads of wealthy fans too and the new stadium allows them to contribute a lot to our finances (most expensive premium seat is now nearly £16k a year!).
"Man charged with assualting Arsenal's goalie". At least someone at Tottenham attacked the Arsenal goal!!!!?
I was sitting directly opposite that incident and remember praying for the same outcome. So obviously instead he got a new contract until 2024
It’s bizarre that the players aren’t treated the same way the fans are for similar behaviour. I like the one off the charges brought on that fan. Something like “assault by beating”. Bizarre!
As well as the ban and fine that he will quite rightly get I hope he gets some help too because he has some serious anger management issues there. I would also suggest that his anger was directed at the wrong person, any of those in white were more deserving.
