I often think the best songs are so unique to the club that other clubs don’t get why the song was chosen. The song doesn’t even have to make sense. I always bang the drum for the Humber Bridge song, which I think was written in the 60s though i’m not sure:
I went to see Orlando Magic, the noise was incessant, they have DJ booth courtside, the attempt to gee the crowd up does not work, it was too loud, too much, and crap, totally out of sync with the play. A curse on anyone even thinking about goal music
Nothing like the sound of football boots rattling down the tunnel at the start of a game, brings back (long gone) memories!
Each to his own, but I thought "tiger tiger burning bright" was too slow and serious, and we need something uplifting or we shouldn't bother.
Finally, ifollow got the full game up to view and watched it through. I have to say credit to Huddersfield who set up and marshalled the defence expertly. I agree the first half was totally uninspiring, and we just seemed to move the ball far too slowly and allowed them to get back behind the fall too easily. The second half was better and the substitutions certainly made a difference, even though as mentioned their defensive shape was excellent, their time-wasting was clearly what they had planned to do, and getting the equaliser really felt like justice was done finally. I thought Greaves had a good game, Slater was industrious and makes himself available most of the time, Longman tried to get us on the front foot, but often was up against 3 or 4 players to try and get past. In summary, Huddersfield are certainly improving under Fotheringham and looking at the 2 games we played against them this season, frankly, we had a better chance of beating them in the first game. I can't see them going down, but the division is tight from top to bottom, apart from the promotion spots, and it will all come down to who has a bad run of form towards the end of the season who goes down.
One of these should give 'em summat to think about before k.o. with suitable signage...directing their team bus...
