absolutely agree… and it’s the argument against emu and my comments that the defenders aren’t up to it. All I would say, is there haven’t been many games where we’ve been under the cosh, and being able to handle the heat is what separates the wheat from the chaff. But results bring table pressure and it can impact confidence for sure
Pulled this from FB. Apparently published in the Scum. Seems we're set to be safe, & have 6.8 wins & 5.5 draws to look forward to. And 8.7 lost too. please log in to view this image
The reason why I blame his system, if he wants his fullbacks high and to provide the width. Nothing wrong with that if they have pace. It’s not going to work when you have two snails at right and left back coupled with a tortoise and turtle as centre halves
well there’s an argument to fit the system to the players you have for sure… so that means park the bus and don’t let the donkeys at the back past the 6 yard box
Lets be honest, Marsch came and he said it was his job to stop conceding goals, he hasn't we’re still shipping 2 goals per game average. We are still earning around or just below 1 point per game. Yes there are some improvements in front of goal and assists, but a quick cross field pass or a ball down the wing into acres of space leaves one defender on the half way line galloping back. Sunday League tactics. My opinion of course but if he cannot stop this amateur stuff then he loses his job in the next few games. I have lost patience simply because I don’t see any improvement in results after a year. I see the odd spark in every match but we need to see sustained improvement and a bedded in system instead of this mess and slapdash cavalry charge we end up doing when we go behind. He needs to play like we did after going behind at Villa, the way we played against Chelsea and Arsenal. It works
Same position and 2 points more than when I posted my "lets guess all the premier league results until the end of the season" on 30th December on the PL Season 2022/23 thread Who needs a supercomputer when a 1970's Sinclair calculator works just as well https://www.not606.com/threads/pl-season-2022-23-commences-6th-august.400801/page-12#post-16377420
… I'm sure Ell's point (or was it mine ) was the context. Having a fat, half fit Phillips didn’t help marsch… but only LL and maybe Shaks would argue that a fit Phillips wasn't one of our two best players.
