I wasn’t and haven’t been a critic of Marsch or calling for his head in the past, but I’ve lost patience. Two wins in the last seventeen or eighteen games is appalling so his position in charge deserves questioning. He is also a year into the job so should have got to grips with premier league football by now. This is our third season back, historically the first two are meant to be the most difficult, I was expecting lower mid table without any relegation anxiety this year. We’re even below “relegation favourites” Nottingham Forest now ffs.

    Someone's a bit touchy...

Ali played 29 games for Spurs last season, a top 5 side. I'm not talking about this season. Van Der Beek was installment in keeping Everton up last season. Both would have improved our squad.

    yeh it does suck fella!

I was talking to my neighbour earlier, who’s a forest fan. He says they’re still coughing up chances like they did earlier in the season (not so many since they adjusted their backline and added a bit of pace apparently). He basically said sides just keep missing chances against them and they’re nicking results.

success and failure is very fine margins… bielsa paid a lot of credence to measurements of success… he’d always comment on whether a result was fair based on the positive actions of each side. It’s why I blather on about xg a fair bit as it’s not perfect but a barometer of how a side is performing.

We’re on the wrong side of those margins this season. Winning and losing habits are one of those mysteries of team sports. It’s amazing how often a flukey win changes things.

We’re 13th in the xg table - based on what would have been a ‘fair result’ in the games we’ve played. Forest 17th.

Bad luck gets a lot of managers sacked. The new manager bounce? statistically you actually get the bounce whether you change manager or not… ie form ebbs and flows.

I’m not giving marsch a get out of jail free card, it’s just my opinion that we’ve been a bit better than those admittedly sh*t results. And whether it’s his fault or defensive fck ups beyond his control… he’s in his second window now - so if he hasn’t fixed it on the training ground or by cheque book, the buck stops with him now.

Quite right it’s all about opinions
You have yours I have mine
I would like Jesse to succeed for obvious reasons but how much longer does he need because it’s nearly panic stations. 2 points from bottom is hardly encouraging is it.

In the last eight games, we've won twice, drawn twice and lost 4. In our last four games, two have been against top 5 opposition.

actually Marsch's narrow ball had everything to do with the winner ... Spurs were still able to drag Leeds defenders out wide and expose the middle for their runners ... we still had no wingers tracking back to nullify their full backs bombing forward ... if Marsch wanted to close up shop, he should have gone to a 4141 and play two wide men to check the full backs creating overloads ... the overloads out wide meant Spurs wingers could either play one-twos around our full backs or cut inside and run at our centre backs because our full backs were left marking their full backs

it really isn't rocket science ... five at the back with no wingers is STILL narrow ball, the only difference being you have an extra CB marking absolutely nobody and clearly there just to try and head clear any crosses coming in from wide ... Spurs were still able to get behind Leeds out wide, his sub didn't change that ... what it did change was to give away the midfield and allow Spurs a foothold to take control with the extra man now helping them to build and find the full backs running into space more easily

Leeds at no time looked like "dropping back" in that game because Spurs simply couldn't build any momentum ... they also couldn't throw players forward for fear of being countered, which Leeds did effectively ... look at Leeds third goal ... Spurs 2-2 at home weren't throwing men forward, because they understood the danger the pace of the Leeds front three posed ... when Leeds win possession, Spurs only have three men ahead of the ball ... they aren't over committing because they have no control in midfield and Leeds have the pace to get in behind with one pass ... even then, because Leeds are controlling midfield, Spurs can't cope and in a flash the ball is played down the inside left channel and Rodrigo punishes Spurs with a world class finish

no change by Marsch to the system and Leeds see that game out with the chance of scoring a fourth ... but no, continue with narrow ball and midfield control to Spurs ... now there's overloads out wide and through the middle, and Spurs are able to throw extra men forward knowing Leeds don't have an out ball ... oh jeez

so we’re still agreeing that Jesse’s Leeds we’re in complete control away at a top 6 club. I’m wondering how that happened if the system doesn’t work.

We aren’t in disagreement that the subs changed things for the worst.

we’ll have to disagree on the causes of the goals.

entertaining debating with as you always Billy. ALAW

The headline to day is slightly different from my understanding. I have hinted at some unrest in the camp concerning certain players one of them left last week, but this new headline says there are senior players speaking to the board have not heard that?
Exclusive: Leeds United senior players tell board to sack Jesse Marsch as behind-the-scenes unrest grows

There you go again resorting to insults. For somebody who posts so well it's a mystery but if it makes you feel big then fire away.
